Because Baby Gaga is a parenting and pregnancy site, we assume a certain level of maturity for all the members, which means—-even if everyone isn’t always acting that mature, we would rather give them the benefit of the doubt. Therefore, conflicts that arise between two individuals are best resolved privately between them. If all else fails, use the the options to ignore them on the forums and block them from your private message inbox.

The only reasons a member will be banned from Baby Gaga is if they:

• spam the site
• fake a pregnancy
• fake a miscarriage
• fake a birth
• fake an identity

If you don’t like them or their behavior for whatever reason, simply click on the “ignore” button by their avatar (on the forum or their profile) and block them from your private message inbox and you will have effectively banned them from your Baby-Gaga experience.

Send a private message to our Baby Gaga profile and let us know their user name and why you think they’re faking.

Below are the benefits and consequences of choosing to ignore another member of Baby Gaga:

• You will not be able to add them to your Parentank
• Their posts will become “hidden” in the course of any threads you choose to read.
• Their topics will simply not show up in the list of topics on any of the boards.
• If they are the last poster on topic, you will see “posted by: ignored member” on your watched topic replies and within the context of any forum topics index.

Note: you cannot ignore someone who is already in your Parentank-- to ignore, you must first remove them from your Parentank.

: you must find one of their ignored/hidden posts in any thread (very subtly blended into the brown back board of any topic thread) and click on the difficult-to-read “read anyway” link. While their post is opened, click on the link by their avatar that says: “stop ignoring.”

You have the option to block someone from sending you private messages or leaving comments on your profile or albums. You can put them on your blocked list without their knowledge. To block a member from your PM inbox, simply click on the “Block” link that shows up under their avatar within any PM that they send you. When you block someone:

• You will no longer receive any private messages or comments. Their posts to you will vanish into thin air.
• They will not know that you are blocking them.

*Note: you cannot block someone who is already in your Parentank, to perform the block, you must first remove them from your Parentank.

go to your private messages page and click on the "blocked" tab in the upper right hand corner. There you will see a list of all the members you have blocked. Check the box next to the members you want to stop blocking, and then click on the "unblock" button.

There are two methods which will allow you to find people in your area, but first you must ensure that you have filled out your location information on your profile before we will be able to connect you with people near you. Follow these basic steps to find other people living in your country (or state if you are living in USA).

1. Make sure your profile has your location information filled out by clicking on “edit my profile” and then, clicking on the tab “my location” if your location is not filled out in your preview of your location
2. Once you’ve filled out your location, you can choose to do an advanced member search by clicking on the “members” tab in the header and selecting “search” after which point you will check the box “in my location” and then click on the “search” button
3. You can also find members in your country or state by entering into a particular forum (such as “Pregnancy Issues”) and clicking on the tab that says “my location” for a list of all the topics in that forum made by others in your location.

We will be extending our location search to include major metropolitan areas and cities once we have incorporated more privacy controls.

There are three methods which will allow you to find people who have similar family situations (e.g. have a similar due date, or a child near your child’s age, or TTC etc.), but first you must ensure that you have filled out your family information on your profile before we will be able to connect you with people with similar family situations. Follow these basic steps to find other members who share similar family situations:

1. Make sure your profile has your family information filled out by clicking on “edit my profile” and then, clicking on the tab “my family” if your family information is not filled out in your profile preview.
2. Once you’ve entered your family’s information, you can choose to do an advanced member search by clicking on the “members” tab in the header and selecting “search” after which point you will check either the box “with my expecting status” or check the box “with kids near my kids ages” and then click on the “search” button.
3. You can also find members with similar due-dates/ttc/adopting status and kids' ages by entering into a particular forum (such as “Pregnancy Issues”) and clicking on the tab that says “my family” for a list of all the topics in that forum made by members sharing a similar family status as you.
4. The easiest way to find a Due Date buddy is simply to go to the due date buddies forum and click on the month you’re due to give birth. After which point, you can click on the calendar dates displayed for a full listing of all members with that due date. Additionally, in each pregnant member’s post, you will see their due date listed at the end of their post.

A featured member is a member who has established themselves as an active, supportive, invested part of Baby-Gaga, which means they’ve posted frequently, their presence on the forums is both supportive and positive, and they’ve been Parentanked by several other members. Some featured members are hand-picked by the Baby-Gaga team, others are selected automatically by our proprietary system.
