Benefits of having an album

When you link images or videos to your album, you will give other members the ability to comment on your images, which gives you the ability to selectively approve which comments you will allow. In addition, any time you post a media item into the forums, it gets linked directly to your albums as well (provided you use the same URL as you did for inserting it into your albums).

How to post a photo or image in one of your albums

Follow these basic steps:

  1. From your member menu, click on the “my albums” link in your “home” member menu.
  2. Click on the album you would like to post in (e.g. Family, Funny Stuff, Babies etc.).
  3. Copy and paste the entire URL (website address e.g. http://123.photobucket.com/albums/c201/mybaby.jpg) of your desired image and then click “preview”) of your desired media link and then click “preview”
  4. Enter an image title and description and then click “add to album” once you’re satisfied.

Problems posting a photo or media item

Below are the possible reasons why you might be having problems posting your photo or media item.

  • You did not enter the correct or complete URL (website address)
  • You actually have posted an image or item correctly but your particular web-hosting service is not supported by Baby Gaga, so there is no preview. To double check whether or not it’s correctly posted, simply view your album from the public view (click on the upper left-hand link in your “my albums”)
  • You forgot to enter an image title for the item, which must be entered before the item will be posted.

Previewing my photos and images

Unfortunately, we don’t yet support all web-based photo sites that allow a smaller version preview of the image. Thus far, we are able to show preview images from the following sites:

  • photobucket.com (preferred as the fastest loading)
  • imageshack.us
  • tinypic.com
  • youtube.com
  • facebook.com
  • myspace.com

We’ll be supporting more photo-sites in the future as the demand increases.

Allowed photo dimensions

The dimensions and size limits for your photos and media actually depend on the website that you’re uploading your photos to, and not our site restrictions. The maximum size we display an image at is: 450 x 600 pixels. If you image is larger, we will automatically resize it to fit these dimensions.

TIP: if your photos are smaller they will load faster, thereby increasing the likelihood of people actually viewing your pictures.

Viewing my photo & media comments

Follow these basic steps:

  1. From your home member menu, click on “my albums” (if you’ve received an alert about new album comments, simply click on the link “new album comments” to view your comments).
  2. In your albums at the top click on the link “all image comments”
  3. If there are comments from members that are not in your Parentank, you will have to approve them before they will be seen on your public profile by other members
  4. If you decide to approve the comment, you can also choose to Parentank the member in order to allow them to comment freely on your images in the future.
  5. If you do NOT want to approve the comment, you can delete it and the member who sent the comment will not know that you chose to delete the comment.

Reporting an image

Within every member’s album, each image has a link to report that image. There are four different reasons why you might want to report an image:

  • A broken link: the image is no longer visible because it has been deleted, removed, or moved elsewhere from the photo-sharing site.
  • copyright violation: your believe the image as it is posted is violating copyright laws.
  • A privacy violation: you believe the image is violating your or another person’s privacy.
  • Abuse: the image is abusive in content and contain imagery that is: pornographic, obscene, defamatory, libelous, and/or constitutes hate speech.

If you feel that someone has "stolen" your pictures and put them in their albums, locate the the offending pictures and click on the "report image" button. From the reporting choices, click on "copyright" or "privacy" and then send a private message to Baby Gaga.

Privacy

You have the option to block visitors that are not members of Baby Gaga from viewing your albums, by setting your entire profile's privacy setting to "members only" within your "accounts" and then "privacy" tab.
