Baby Gaga created a grading system after going through what nearly every parent who is on the site has gone through: internet exhaustion. There is SO much information and so much garbage and everyone has an opinion on why their stroller is the best/worst/most beautiful/obnoxious/too heavy/just perfect etc.

What if someone compiled the massive cyber-tangle of stroller information into a coherent standardized format which we could easily read and understand without spending hours floating from site to site? You know, like a report card for each stroller out there.

Our requirements for our grading system evolved fairly naturally, but started out with the prerequisite that we have enough consumer data to fairly represent each model. That’s why a stroller can only be reviewed if there is a minimum of 20 full-length consumer reviews available (also a good indication of the general success of the stroller and the necessity to review it for potential consumers).

To create the report card, we standardized all of the “stroller issues” every parent must consider before purchasing a stroller including:

• general ease of use
• the weight and bulk of the stroller—folded and not
• durability and sturdiness of the frame and components
• maneuvering and smoothness of ride
• how comfortable and safe parent and child(ren) are using the stroller
• levels of satisfaction with the price paid for their stroller.

We refined these categories into the four overarching categories: value, safety, convenience, and comfort. Obviously, we weight safety grades over convenience, which in turn, is weighted a bit more than comfort.

The parent rating is a ranked and averaged score derived from 20 or more consumer reports of overall purchasing satisfaction with a particular stroller.

Unfortunately, we’re a small team and have been focusing our efforts these past two years on creating a more rounded website, including the tickers, pregnancy calendar, and the new forum/member center.

We will be adding new stroller reviews to the mix sometime in the near future. For the time being, we hope that the forum will allow our members to share opinions and reviews with one another.
