Home births seem awesome. I am too much of a whimp to every try I though,I always wanted to.

My OB has like 5 or 6 doctors and you have to see them all just incase one isn't on shift when you deliver. When I went in for my appt. I wasn't even dialated but was having contractions like 4 mins apart. She was like go in blah blah. So me being stupid I did. I should have went home. I had cervadil,petossin(sp?) And then a csection. I was like a week over due. It was wack.

Yeah and even more of a reason to be terrified of a c section lol because it's definitely really bad to have 5 c sections lmao

Yeah I ended up with cervidil with my son because I was 10 days overdue and not dilated, never felt a contraction, etc etc.
They gave me that at night and said to go to sleep and they would start pitocin in the morning. They gave me an ambien to sleep but all it did was smurf me up bad like I was drunk. I couldn't walk and was slurring my words. Then my water broke and I forced myself to take a lap before my contractions hit hard. I was still out of it and in so much pain and I couldn't remember anything I learned about breathing or positions to help the pain. They gave me an IV drug because I didnt want the epidural. When it wore off an hour later I asked for more and they said I couldnt have more I could only get the epidural. I held off for another hour or two and then gave in because they kept pressuring me about it. The epidural only lasted 45 minutes and it took the anesthesiologist another hour to get back around to me after it wore off. By then I told her to forget it just leave me alone because I never wanted the freaking thing in the first place and I was regretting it. Next thing I knew I was ready to start pushing, my OB didnt believe me so I had to INSIST that she check me and what do you know? I was 10 cm. She said she needed to go get changed and she'd be back. She came back 20 minutes later as I pushed my son out.
Altogether my labor was 7 1/2 hours from the time my water broke until the time my son was born but it was a miserable 7 1/2 hours and because of the ambien I only remember bits and pieces and then I slept the entire day(he was born at 9:30am) and missed his first bath etc.
AND they were still trying to give me the pitocin at 7am as planned I was like I'VE DILATED 7CM IN 5 HOURS I DON'T NEED IT!!!!!!!!

Anyway every midwife I've talked to said the rule is, second labor is half the time. They said I'm going to be one of the ones where they're arriving just as the baby is being pushed out lol so hopefully it stands true and I will have a nice clear headed calm 4 hour labor and birth lol

I hope so. Rough labors suck. When I went in for my second csection I was in and out of there within an hour. Fully awake,I actually got to see my child when she fresh. Lol. It was waaay better than my first.

That's what I want. To be clearheaded and fully awake. And I want pictures!! Lol DH and I were both so flustered and distracted we forgot I brought a book with all different laboring tips, the camera and the video camera. I have NOTHING until a few hours after my son was born.

Yeah,that's how it was with my first. I have pics of us that my family took in recovery. But with my second they let SO film from the time she was out untill they finished me up. The anastesiologist (sp?) Even taped for us when they gave SO the baby.

My second labor was considerably shorter than my first, and this one was even shorter. My first was 26 hours, second was 18 hours, and this last one was only 9 hours.

I'm sorry you had such a smurffy experience giving birth to your son, I really hope you get the birth you want with this one.   <3

I've got a 2011 baby and a 2012 baby (ha, end of the world my ass). I think my body needs to calm down, lol. No 2013 baby for me. At least I hope not.  

Definitely not ready to say I'm done though. I have 3 girls, and damned if I'm not still holdin out hope for a boy one day, lol.

haha end of the world baby haha oh smurf did you hear about teh twin sisters gave birth like few hours or mins apart and there babies were the last born in 2012? i heard it on the radio. who knows lol

random question but did you ladies have a traditional wedding or nontraditional?

I saw that! They gave birth like 3 hours apart. So crazy!!!
And I got married Xmas Eve 2012  
So far I just have a 2010 baby and I'll have a 2013 baby. Hoping for a 2014 baby as well but with breastfeeding I don't think I will be able to get pregnant as soon as I want
