4 year old with blood in urine

So I took my 4 year old to the doc today because yesterday her said his bladder was hurting. I also remembered that my sister was fussing at him because he said he had to go to the bathroom and he was out in no time at all she was saying that he was lying about using the bathroom and the one time I went with him he only peed about a third of what he normally does so I was thinking either a bladder infection or a uti. When I brought him to the doc they said it was rare fo him to have either and after they took a urine sample they confirmed he had blood in his urine. He said they will have to send it off for culture and should be 2 days before they get it back I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this. Kinda freaks me out because when I was pregnant with him one of his kidneys was enlarged but they did a repaet ultrasound and said everything was fine when he was born?

My friend's 7 y/o had blood in his urine and he had a bladder infection.

Probably a bladder infection. I had blood in my urine when I had one. It felt like I was pissing needles!

When I had blood in my urine, it was because I had a hemmorhage. And the hemmorhage was from a REALLY bad bladder infection. I wasnt going to the bathroom very often and when I did it hurt really bad toward the end of my "stream".
I had to get the lab test too and it took 3 days to get it bacck. Im sorry mama, ask if there is a kiddie kind of Azo's, they really helped with the pain, but turned my pee orange

Ouch.. I had the same thing happen a while back and it was the most painful thing in my life. Even more painful than labor and delivery. :-o

I am going through the same thing and waiting for the doctor results... What was the result for your son if you do not mind sharing.
