HIT MY BELLY WITH THE CAR DOOR...

Hey there I hit my belly with the car door on sunday night...or i guess monday morning when we came home from waffle house...my boyfriend said o your fine...well monday i didnt feel baby moving as ,uch and i was worried so we called the doc. no answer so I left a message they never called back...but I had a schedulued apt. on tuesday morning at 8:30 anyways so I went to my regular dr appointment on tuesday and they sent me to labor and delivery because my blood pressure was high and when we got there I thought this shouldnt take too long...well they hooked me up to the machine that tells if you are having contractions and I WAS I thought they were BH contractions but apparently not....they started getting worse and more frequent so they checked my cervix and I was dialated 1 cm and they said I shouldnt be dialated AT ALL at only 31 weeks so they hooked me up to some IV's and gave me magnesium sulfate....How scary...I was in labor and didnt even know it...It really freaked me out...anyways the long and short of it...they kept me over night monitorng the baby (she is very healthy) and monitoring contractions...they said this mag sulf. could keep me from going back into labor until full term...so thats good...I feel like I have been hit by a bus...oh yeah they also gave me a shot of steroids for babys lungs and said that if the mag didnt work and I did end up going back into labor in the next 48 hours that her lungs would be strong enough to breathe on her own....so thats good, so i just got home from the hospital at like 3 today....ugh Im on bed rest for the rest of my pregnancy unless my doc tells me otherwise...so im wondering was it from the car door or was she just ready to come out...probably the car door cuz they did a sonogram and she is still butt down!!!!   scary thought to be in labor when she still hasnt turned!!! anyways..sorry this is so long how is everyone else doing these days????

Well hopefully she starts turning around for you!! How hard did you hit your belly? lol must of been a good knocked! As long as shes okay though! :O)

dude, dont u hate that.. im so sick and tired of slamming doors on my belly... i swear my doctor prolly thinks im already abusing my child.....

Yeah she is its crazy!!!! she was smiling in a few of the pics! then in some of them it looked like she was puckering up for a kiss...WAAAYY cute I was surprised at how good the pics came out....some peoples dont look so good...im glad they turned out tho! it was definately worth the money!!!

yeah it was pretty hard...i felt like a dumbass cuz know im a cow I just had a moment where i thought i was still only 115 pounds...boy was i mistaken! lol! i weigh a whoppin 153 now!!! i cant believe it!

i totally forget that i have this huge thing sticking out in the front... i ram it on counters and tables... ive even burnt my belly button cooking....

I havent done that one but I have gotten really close! i usually dont wear shirts around the house....i wear sports bras...and every time i cook food always splashes on my belly...grease, water, stew, spaghetti sauce...you name it its burnt my belly....really not good....

Haha yeah that happened to me! I was like oh look how small my belly is and then at 24 weeks BAM!

Even if you hit your stomach incredibly hard, it is unlikely that that caused your contractions..
And having contractions and being dilated doesn't always mean that you are in active labor.. You are probably in the early stages of labor but that can last several weeks before you actually go into active labor, so try not to worry.
Also, lots of women dilate to 1cm around the same time as you and don't progress any further until later on.
I was at 1cm around the same time as you and then ended up only getting to 3cm when I delivered at 39 weeks.
Just take it easy and you should have no problems making it to full term  

I have hit my belly with EVERYTHING... the end of the broom, the end of the vacum, car doors, doors, PEOPLE... its so hard to judge the distances of my new shape...

hitting our bellys with car doors will put us in labor?? I will be right back, I have an idea   (just kidding)

I am forever hitting my stomach with things... car doors... corners of the wall... counter tops...

well not sure thats what sent me into labor just the only thing that had happened recently besides having sex...I usually dont have sex...just dont feel like it at all anymore! and my boyfriend really wanted to so we did...and that was the same night I went into labor...but I dont think that had anything to do with it! because people have sex all the time while being pregnant and that doesnt cause anything! but when they released me from the hospital they said no sexual intercourse because orgasm could bring the contractions on!!! and I thought...what the hell???? people have sex EVERY DAY how can that make you contract??? doesnt make sense to me...maybe they only say that because I was in preterm labor??? I dont know!
