1st Birthday traditions.

My son will turn 1years old in May and I am wondering what are some traditions for the birthday party? One example. I saw pictures of my friend's baby's 1st birthday party and he had a separate cake to eat. Is this what everyone does? This is my only child so I'm wanting a lot of ideas.

every 1st birthday i've heard of has had the cake they eat with their hands.

my niece wouldnt do it though. she hated to be messy. they stuck her hands in it...she cried. lol

Okay, thank you. I don't remember my siblings having a separate cake. That's cute about your daughter. I hope my son has fun with it.

its not a tradition but im making a video to be played of pictures over the past year
