Quoting VictoriaDarlene♥:" evenflo newborn car seat? not sure if its good or not saw so many mixed reviews online but somehow had ... [snip!] ... a high rating. id feel better getting some REAL feedback on it lol. and what would be the best type of rocking chair to get?"

I have no idea about the rocking chair. I prefer Graco car seats. When I was pregnant the first time, a friend of mine had just had a baby and she had an Evenflo newborn car seat. She informed me not to get one because of the handle on it. She said it is really tough to carry. I took her advice and got a Graco one that I am pretty comfortable with. That's really all of the information I have on the subject though.

You have to make sure to pick a crib that's safe, especially since drop-side cribs have been outlawed. So far, from my research, one of the safest cribs out there is the DaVinci Emily crib, which is a convertible crib. It's a great buy for new parents, especially for many of us trying to get the most value for our dollar, because you essentially get 4 products in 1. The review at the link above should outline all this.

diaper genies= waste of money....

carseat travel system= good but not the big bulky ones bc u will get ANNOYED with having to deal with that huge thing but they have smaller ones well the stroller is way less bulky but the carseat is the same size.. THOSE are the ones to get...

i found a carseat that u could use from 5lbs -80 lbs... and i love it... my daughter is almost 4 and she is still in it.. and will be in it for another while bc she is only 34lbs... and i just bought the smaller stroller that looks like the bulky ones JUST NOT BULKY.. and i love it.. she doesnt use it anymore but im going to use it with this new baby..

To all of you:
I wanted to inform you that I just recently found out from KSL news that ALL car seats have an expiration date on them. You need to make sure you check the expiration date frequently. That way your baby is safe. It kind of sucks because you can get nice car seats that allow your baby to be pretty big without buying a new one, but that is no longer the case.

For those asking about a travel system: I had one with my first and I liked it alright- but it was freaking huge and heavy. I have chronic neck and shoulder pain and can't imagine lifting that stupid stroller in and out of the car now. Plus with a c-section I remember it was pretty hard when I started venturing out. With this one, I plan on getting a Baby Jogger City Mini Single. The reviews are wonderful and apparently its VERY lightweight and easy to lift in and out. You can buy attachments for your carseat so its great for your infant. Plus it goes up to 50 lbs so you can use it as an umbrella stroller later on. I'm not lugging that awful travel system around again.

I'm not sure what we'll do about a diaper genie. 7 years ago we had a diaper decor and we loved it but I'm not sure they sell them anymore. Also on the evenflo vs graco carseats: I would go with graco. We had graco with our first and didn't have any problems with it. But we had an evenflo front facing seat...so I think its just your preference?

Baby barista - this is my 3rd baby girl and this barista is basically a coffee machine that makes baby bottles within 30 seconds for you! All you do is put the water in the back and have the formula in the bottle...it also has a sanitizing station in the back, can travel with you and can heat up baby food jars! Not necessary, I know, but I'm totally going to buy it anyways!

Quoting DoveloSono:" How about those travel systems (stroller/car seat)...? How long does the baby actually get to sit in ... [snip!] ... actually get to sit in the car seat before she is too big? Are they actually worth the money? Should I just buy separates?"

I had one of these and the baby carrier car seat held a baby up to 20-23 lbs and 29 inches. the stroller last much longer i think the weight for it is 45-50 lbs.

When my first was born she was tiny and sat in her little infant seat till she was 8 months old... I loved my travel system... but i wouldnt necessarily buy one brand new... check craigslist or a local other mothers or something!

I had a diaper gene way back when they first came out for my oldest. LOVED IT!
Got a new one for my youngest son. It gets emptied every night full or not. The only down fall is the refills are about $6 each, but then so is a box of trash bags.
Travel systems were not available for my oldest. Heck infant carrier seats had just come out then. But with my youngest son and the new baby we got them. Matty's out grown his seat by now but the stroller is still good.

So I have heard about those pocket fetal dopplers that you can use to hear the baby's heart beat while you're at home. Does anyone have one? How well does it work? I found one for $52 and just wanted to know if that's a good price. Also, has anyone ever heard of these things harming the baby if you use it every day? It uses high frequency waves to catch the sound of the heart beat, much like your doctor would with a fetal heart monitor. Well let me know what you think. Thanks!

I bought one with my first and it was wonderfull until she hit about 4mos then it became more of an annoyance than anything. You have to keep buying the refils, but as the diapers get bigger you are changing the thing all the time!!! I threw it away and have decided that I am truely better off without it...lol
