What do you really need to bring a baby home?

when I go to these sites I look around and I see ALOT of things that don't seem useful or needed. For second time moms or grandmoms.. please tell me What do you really need to bring a baby home? What are the MUST HAVES?

the must haves:
a car seat
a daiper bag
9 bottles 2-6 oz sized( you can buy larger bottles later when the baby is older)
diaper rash cream
diapers
wipes
baby powder
baby wash
perfume/dye free hypoallergenic laundry detergent- all makes a good one, you dont have to buy dreft.
5-10 onsies in 0-3 and 3 month sizes- you can buy larger when the baby is 3 months old or so if need be.
3 -5 footie pjs/sleepers in 0-3 and 3 month sizes
2-4 pairs of pants in 0-3 and 3 month sizes
atleast one bag of socks in 0-3 and 3 month sizes
5-10 receiving blankets
2-4 baby blankets
crib and mattress with 2 sheets( bumper pads optional- lots of research says either way yay or nay for it)
mylicon gas drops or cimilar
baby tylenol
baby motrin
a peditricain
formula if you arent breast feeding
some kind of breast pump- you can rent them from the hospital if you cannot afford to buy one
those items are the must haves to get by adn not be washing baby clothes every day. other ppl would say you need a stroller or changing table right away etc, but realistically, i am putting down what you need to get by by the bare minimums. if money is an issue- check out target and walmart. while second hand stores can be nice, safety regualtions chnage a lot, so you cant be sure what you buy from a second hand store will be safe.
the are great to haves:
a pack n play
mobile for your crib
swing or bouncy chiar
diaper genie or similar
stroller
more clothes esp in larger sizes. you should buy 0-3 month and 3 month siuzes up front
baby toys
carrying sling or back pack typs carrier
monitor
rocking or glider chair
a sleep postioner for the crib
a play mat/ gym
a exersaucer
bottle wamrer
wipe warmer
changin table
i could go on and on and on about the thinsg that would be awesome to have. i hope it helps. just my opinion thouhg. everyone says you need different things

Although I've never been pregnant before, I did raise my little brother and these are the things I really needed:
Pack-n-play ( I prefer it to the crib, my brother slept in his untill he was 3)
Exersaucer
A bunch of onsies
Couple pairs of footie pjs
two or three outfits
formula (if your not breast feeding, my brother prefered Isomil)
5-7 bottles
3-4 recieving blankets (I ended up using them more for burping cloths than blankets)
2 or 3 baby blankets
diapers
wipes
baby wash
desiden or similar
baby powder
diaper bag
car seat (although a stroller that comes with a car seat is really nice)
I would put down socks but my brother would allways cry when we put them on him, and then later he'd rip them off.

You are right you dont need all the stuff the sites say you do! Here is a list of what you need to get started! Keep in mind you will need to buy other things as baby gets bigger.
Car Seat
Diapers
Wipes
Bottles if bottle feeding
Formula if bottle feeding
2 packs Onzies
1 pack of Socks
5-10 Sleepers or outfits
3-5 Recieving blankets (I dont use these much)
2-3 Blankets
Hat if its cold
Baby wash
Rubbing Alcohol (belly button)
Vaseline (for boy if circumsized)
Thats really all you need, You will need a crib or pack and play later for baby to sleep in, (all three of my kids slept in either there car seat or swing for the first 3 months, they all had GER and needed to be semi upright while sleeping) You will need more clothing as baby grows, maybe binkies if you prefer, I wouldnt go way over board with recieving blankets personally (some babies dont like to be swaddled, and some like mine come out so big the grow out of them in two weeks) As far as blankets, only a couple, I only use them when we would go out and it was could, at night I put them in a sleeper or onzie then one of those blanket sleepers that have no feet and zip up) I dont have to worry about the blanket get up around there face and sufficating them, or them getting uncovered at night. I used special laundry soap for my first baby, but the second two I didnt, the funny thing is with my first I had to wait longer before I could stop using baby wash on her also (she was like 3yrs old) and not the other two. I think starting her off with sensitive skin products was worse then when I used the normal stuff. Swings and bouncy seats are nice, but not a necessity and not all babies like them either. If you have any other questions just ask. Keep in mind what a first time mom thinks is a necessity vs. a mother of 3 or 4 will be different!, LOL! O yeah if you are having it in the winter one of those covers that go over the carseat are wonderful! Again not a necessity, but alot nicer then chasing blankets!

depending on when you have the baby the must haves for bring the baby home are a car seat a blanket and a take home outfit. When you get the baby home that is another story so dont believe people when they give you a whole long list. to take the baby out of a hospital is the carseat take home outfit of course and a blanket good luck
