xanax!

Okay so i have anxiety and im prescribed xanax i recently found out im pregnant...only 6weeks and havent had the chance to call my Dr and ask if it was okay to still take......
has anyone taken this while they were pregnant? is it dangerous for the baby? im just worried i dont wanna harm the baby or anything!

Yes it is dangerous during pregnancy. My doctors made me go off of it when I got pregnant and took me off of it now since I am ttc.

i stopped taking mine after i found out. i told the dr and she said it was perfectly fine that she was going to ask me to stop anyways.

Xanax can be detrimental to an unborn baby's development! Stop taking it  .

Cannot take during pregnancy and it has been a bitch! I am prescribed it and on it too for occasional anxiety attacks and you can't.

no no.. i was also on xanax before i got pregnant and they took me off of them slowly .. (i dont know how much you take.. but it can be VERY bad to just stop taking them.. it can even kill you)
soo.. cut way back.. what mg do you take?
its a Category D.. and may increase the risk of birth defects when it is used during pregnancy.

they shouldn't of taken you off of it immediately.. i don't know what dose you take, but just going right off of it can cause really bad health problems.. and even death if you are on a high dose

but hun, you need to talk to your doctor before you just go off of it.. you shouldn't stop taking it without a doctor knowing..
A pregnancy Category D medicine may still be given to a pregnant woman if the healthcare provider believes that the benefits to the woman outweigh the possible risks to the unborn child.
so just talk to your doctor.. none of these girls are doctors, or know your certain case!

I was only on 5mg, so maybe that's why they told me to get off of it so quick. lol

I dont believe any of us claimed to be doctors.
We just told her what our doctors did with us. No one told her to just stop taking it without talking to her doctor first.

yeah, and it matters how many you took a day also

i was on 1mg (the blue footballs) and i got 90 a month .. (for 3 a day) so they took me off it slowly.. like it took me 3 weeks to get off of it!
but everyone is different, and its for sure a case to case base!

i never said that you guys claimed to be doctors, maybe i wrote it wrong, OR you took it the wrong way
i was just telling her she shouldn't just go off of what everyone is saying on here..
that is really something she should just talk to her doctor about, and do her own research
