First OB appt. at 12.5 wks???

Is that a bad thing? I just moved to Enid at the beginning of July, so I don't know anybody around here, and it took me a long time to pick my OB. I was talking to the Doula that works out of the same office, and she went ahead and scheduled my appt with him. But, the soonest they could get me in was Sept 17th. By then I'll be at 12 1/2 weeks.
I have a history of health issues, and am currently having unexplained joint & body aches...
Should I try to pick someone else and see if they can get me in sooner? I really didn't like any of the others I talked to...

most OBs do your first appt between 8 and 10 weeks, so IMO you really aren't too far behind.

my first appt with the midwife was at 12 weeks. some places wont see you before that except to take your details.

Stay with the OB you have, that's not early   like it was said, they usually check between 8-10 weeks...so you aren't that far behind!

i didn't have my first ob appt until i was 14 weeks, but then again i went to a military hospital. they don't like to see you normally untill your around 3 months because thats when the most m/c accur anddon't want to get your hopes up..hope everything works out tho!

i had my first appt at 6 weeks but they didnt do anything but draw blood and get my health history. I went back today for my first real appt where i got to see the baby and hear a heartbeat! it's almost better if you wait, because when you do get an ultrasound you can actually see something and not just a bean of a baby!

I had my first apt at 12.4 wks and my baby is doing fine now. It would just be a problem if you were Rh negative or had progesterone problems

Thanks for reassuring me... I'm RH positive, so no probs there... My only big problem is that all my joints hurt, and 3 doctors now have told me they don't know what's wrong with me...
