No the baby's father is 75% Yurok, so my baby will be about half native american, because the baby also gets a little bit from me.

I am only 1/8 cherokee (on one side..have cherokee on the other, but not sure how much..lol) and not sure what DH is..I know he has some Cherokee, but not sure how much...2 of our kids were really dark but they lightened up...

And I have a son..but he looks straight German or something..blond hair, blue eyes and very fair skin.
So you never know. My girls have a naturally darker skin tone. You know how you can see little circles of pigment on a mixed child? They have that. And me and DH are as white as they come. I guess it skipped a little.

OH you know what, I think I misunderstood you. Well the baby will only be 1/16th Cherokee, but I don't even think I can claim that or register the baby for that tribe because I was adopted. When I register the baby it will be with the Yurok tribe. I want the baby to be able to know about it's background, and I honestly don't know too much about mine anyway. It's father's family will be able to tell him/her about their tribe, and that will be pretty cool.

Note I myself am Micmac-Beothuk. So my son is half. My Mo's half of the family most have a darker colouring than I, but still it's Red-Black hair if that dark. My father's side is Blue Black, again if that Dark, though on my father's family there is alot more with the darker colouring. Here's a picture of my son.

Wow, that's awesome, thanks for sharing that! Your son is really cute! His coloring is beautiful. When i pictured my baby, I pictured him/her with coloring like that because I am pretty light skinned and I have blonde hair and green eyes, the father has dark skin and that blue black hair you were talking about.

I was the same coloration as my son when I was his age, my hair has gotten darker slowly, but it's still no darker than a reddish Mouse Brown. (I always wanted the Blue Black), & my skin is still not much darker than his when it's tanned. & my Husband is a Blonde & Blue French Canadian(with a touch of Irish from the Potato famine orphans) who's got very very very little Native in him if any (his family forgot it if it is there) but he's got the darkest skin tone of us all!! I've also seen some Native Cree Elders out here that are the spitting Image of my Grandfather (who other than colouration I'm supposed to look like, & my son like I, my family's a little "Cloning factory" ) except they're MUCH much darker toned, & I used to think that my Grandfather was darker hued!!

Yeah it's kind of strange, my baby's father is super dark, but his sister looks white. His father is also really dark, as is the rest of his family. I've seen a picture of my great grandma who was full Cherokee, and she was also really dark, but I'm not at all. So I guess it's really a crapshoot.

Me too!!!! my baby is going to be half white (me) and half native american (her dad) im excited to see what she's going to look like.. but more excited to learn her personality!!!!

Idk what it is called..but just the tone I have always noticed on an African American/Caucasian child (surely not all, but the ones I know)..I don't know how to explain it...My girlshave like tiny darker splotches of pigment on them then lighter ones. I probably sound dumb..I just can't think of how to explain their tone...

I guess a better way to put it would be like say you had thousands of freckles all over your body but you couldbarely see them. I can only tell when I am up close to my kids other than that, they just have a darker pigment than the rest of my family. Not that I'm complaining, I love their skin. They also have lines from their belly-button down like they were pregnant..lol..I don't know about that one though.

im mixed and i don't have any of that.
but im not black/white, im native/white. -shrugs-
