How to tell the parents your preggo...

Share your experiences! How did you tell your parents you were pregnant? Or if you have any words of encouragement, please share as well  

im 21 yrs old and i was still TERRIFIED to tell my mom!

heres how i told her:
i told my cousin Kellee first, who was also pregnant at the time, shes 25. she coached me through it and basically let know to go ahead and get it over with because stress is not good while pregnant. next i told my aunt which i am very close to. she offered to tell my mom for me, but i figured i'd rather do it myself. so the next day my aunt came over and my mom was home too. my aunt took me by my arm and made me go to my moms room and tell her. all i said was "im pregnant"she didnt say anything! i was very shocked!   she was excited and even offered to go with me to my next appt. by the time i told my mom i was already 5 months pregnant! after i told my mom the whole family just knew. i think my grandma told them cause she cant hold water. lol i told my dad shortly after. i told him on the phone since he lives about 2 hrs away. he was much easier to tell because we dont have a close relationship like that. as much as he told me over and over "dont get pregnant" he was excited also. hes actually bought the baby LOTS of stuff already.

telling my family was a HUGE relief! i actually started enjoying being pregnant after that. i would recommend to anyone thats scared to just go ahead and get it over with. i guarantee you'll feel 200% better.[/b]

my mom had knew before hand my period was late;; she figured it might have been just late like periods are cause thats normal;; i told her i was taking the test;; so i took two and showed them to her;; she thought they were negative because the line was so light but a positive is a positive either way;; no way around it;; lol;; well she told me to go to the clinic so i did;; that test came back positive   even though i knew i was the shock had set in by then lol;; when i got home i waited about 15 minutes to tell her;; then i showed her the paper the clinic gave me stating i was pregnant;; she was shocked and disapointed but thats how all parents are;; when i told my dad i told him he was gona be mad n i said im pregnant and he just said and   but he meant it as in and what are u going to do about it;; me n my dad dont talk about it;; i dont think he wants to accept it   but thats life;; ur parents will be mad at first but they learn to accept the fact their baby is having a baby and growing up.

my advice would be to be straight up even if u are scared smurfless lol  

lying about it just makes it worse  

i didn't know how to tell my mom at first..
but only a few days after i found out,
i finally got up the balls to do it. lol

i just started bawling and told her.

my advice would be to tell one or both of your parents as SOON as you find out.
that way you can make sure you get the proper prenatal care.

just suck it up and do it! lol

im 19 turning 20 nov 7th....i found out on a monday and told my mom on a friday ... we went to the movies and when she was dropping me at my fiances job i was just like mom park the car i need to talk to you it took a few mins to come out but i said listen i know your going to be mad and disappointed but im pregnant and im keeping it ... we talked and cried and she explained she wasnt mad or disappointed she was just scared and worried but we are soo excited .... now for my dad we have a closer relationship and i live with him so it was harder especially since his mom died a week ago ... but when i told him (it was me and my fiance together) he suggested abortion and i said no we talked but were sorta distant for a few weeks now he is excited as well .... im happy i told my parents asap it was a huge relief off my shoulders and i have the support i need

well i was scared to tell my mom cuz im 14 nd i thought she would be disapointed in me nd i had told her i was going to the clinic jus to check up so i went wit my sister but im pretty sure she though something was up. so then i told her that i needed to talk to her. she told me "omg your getting married!!" lol i jus told her no but um im pregnant i thought she was going to blow up all she said was shut up omg im gonna be a grandma daym im getting old i was in relief that she was happy. she had toldd me theres no point in being mad at me cuz thats only gonna stress me out nd its gonna lead to no where nd geing mad isnt going to help. the only problem right now is telling my dad. i think the best way to tell him is jus wait til i get bigger until he starts asking questions nd then i tell him but i think you should tell your mom first and then your dad last cuz you know how dads can be so goodluck out there =]
and trust me once you tell them it'll be a big relief

I told her the best i i could figure, i just called her and said "mom im pregnant and im due in Dec." She wasnt really mad she was very understanding. She had told me it as going to happen before it did, because i was already living with and had already been pregnant and had a miscarriage. I guess you could say i am very lucky to have a mom like that!  The rest of my family wasnt as nice. lol

i told my mom right after i found out...
i was going to wait until she got home from work at least but i just couldn't - i called her at work balling and said "mom, i'm pregnant". she asked me how i knew and all that then just said "okay. everything is going to be fine. i have a couple things i have to get done before i can leave but i'll be home as soon as i can. stop crying and i love you!" i then called my dad...i was realllyyy nervous about that... he was pretty quiet - i think just shocked but he took it with an 'okay we can do this' type of attitude too! they both came home from work early and mom cooked me my favorite meal for dinner. my parent's are amazing and although this wasn't "in the plan" they are so excited for their grandson !
i'd definitely say tell your parents as soon as possible though - i know some families are not as accepting as mine has been but even if they aren't, telling them early will give them more time to accept it and adjust  

Well this is kinda a crazy story!
It all actually began when I was working for baskin robbins, and me and my fiance who also worked there... well we got into this big fight and broke up... well we had sex before we broke up many times, but i never would of guess i was pregnant. Well this was august and it was coming to the end of august.. and we started talking and we got back together and obviously had more sex lol.. it was all protected though. Well when I didn't get my period, we guessed i was pregnant... and Well i was. So the day i told my parents, well i told my mom first. I just laid down on her bed while she was watcing tv in there, and obviously she could tell there was something bothering me. Well i told her she wouldn't understand.. so she started guessing stuff like.. oh mikes gay lol... stupid stuff like that to try to cheer me up.. i kept saying she wouldn't understand.. and she was all... come on how bad can it be? its not like your pregnant or anything, and i just stared at her and smile and she started to cry, but she was happy but she kept saying how dissappointed she was at me. Well she said ok time to tell your dad and i said i wasn't so mike stepped in and said then i will... Alissa's pregnant lol.. so yeah thats basically it. They love him though lol...

well i sorta just was actin funny on purpose cuse i know my mother she would come and talk to me when she starts "suspecting somthing's up" and she always gives me the common questions " whats wrong is somthing wrong with Darian?(boyfriend) is somthing going on in school? then the big one "...are you pregnat?" then i just looked at her all sad like and she was like you are? who what when where? and i told her what happend and she just walked away....she didnt tell my father for a month because he just had a major operation and she was more worried about him recovering...my brothers didnt find out for after a month after my dad. My brother thats in collage when he found out he broke 2 of his doors and punched a hole in the wall. My brother that is a year older then me threaten to kill me and my babies daddy   but other then that everything is all good and gravy now! my mom talks constantly about how she cant wait for Takiyah to get here so she can spoil her to death  

Well I am 19 years old I will be 20 in September. I have a 13 month old son and am 9 weeks pregnant. I just found out I was pregnant on August 13 and due on March 26. During my first pregnancy I was in my senior year in high school and didn't find out I was pregnant until I was almost 4 months along. I was scared out of my mind to tell my parents, but I got really bad morning sickness that lasted all day long and I throw my guts up at school and just wanted to come home so I can throw up at home. My mom suspected something but I couldn't tell her till we were face to face. My mom started crying and telling me about her story of having an abortion and many miscarriages and asked what I was going to do. Know telling my dad was a completely different story he wanted to kill me and my boyfriend because he was so mad. But the good part was my boyfriends' parents finding out. I was showing but since it was cold outside I was wearing a jacket. I was leaned over playing with his boy cousin who usually is my best friend and his mom pulled my jacket open and said "I told you she was pregnant." And I said yes and ever since then she has been so happy.
But with this pregnancy being so close and being in college I am happy but scared all over again to tell them that guess what I am pregnant AGAIN!! And hopefully with this pregnancy I wont be sick the whole!!! time.

soo when i found out i was pregnant was on the day of my wedding so it was funny cuz we didnt tell my parents after the wedding but i was already 4weeks pregnant so 2 weeks passed by i went back to work so i left it all to my husband to tell my parents funny thing i used to work with my dad so my dad and i were working my husband was home with my mom brother nd lil sister and while they were eating he told them they were not happy but not mad then my dad went home nd well my husband told my dad my father walked away and said dont include me in this u guys are young and should have thaught bout this he told him it was a planed pregnancy witch was.. funny thing while all this was happening i was working so when i got out of work everybody was sleeping my fam was happy exept my father it took him like a month nd now GUESSSS WATTT!!!! he even goes out with my husBAND to buy the baby clothes isnt it funny lol well yea i didnt have to worry bout telling my pRENTS THANKS TO HUBBY HE DID IT ALL oh yea im 18 hes 20

i told em " at least im not lesbian" lol jk....

i found out april 5..... i was 5 weeks....
i told em like 2-3 weeks later.. i went to my bible class (tuesday)
and my bf n his godmother came over when i got home (like around 9 45)
n then my parents r relly close with his godmother cuz we
all go to the same church... n they asked her after like 3 min. of talking
why she was there and she told them i wanted to tell them sumthing
and i was juee like "ummm i wanted to tell u im pregnant"
my mom already knew cuz she noticed
i hadn't gotten my period.... n my dad gave me like a 25 min. talk
(which was less than when he found out my brother got his gf pregnant
3 years ago n he was 17 also) n they told me it was gunna change my life
but they were gunna support me =)

i love my parents they always understand
