re: How to tell the parents your preggo...

im 15 and pregnant and me and my mom never got along, ever since she had gotten married she just kinda pushed me off and i did what i did. i was more social since i never liked being home and then me and my boy friend of 9 months found out we were have a little boy i was already 3 and a half months so i went home that night and my mom told me she was going out to a concert so i gave her that night and the next morning i stayed home sick from school and a showed her all my tests and ever since me and my mom have been like best friends i tell her everything. But my stepdad on the other hand has a big issue with it. alls he ever does is talk down to me. but then again im use to it he doesnt bother me. But its better to tell you partents then not because you need your vitamins and doctors appoinments.

So I have been thinking, when I eventually get to telling my parents shoould i go with my boyfriend or should i send her an email and tell her that way then tell her to think about everything before she talks to me? My boss thinks that i should send her an emial, tell her to think then finally talk to her in person. I like this idea, but i dont think my mom would appreciate that. i think she would want me to tell her to her face. i am wayyy too scared to do that so i think i might go the semi easy way. Let me know what you guys think i should do. i have mixed emotions

Well i was 17 when my fiance and i found out that i was pregnant. We talked about what we would do before we told anyone. Our orignal plan was to wait til after the 1st trimester (because of the chance of a miscarrige), but after talking to someone who was close to our family. myfiance and i decided to do it the next day. We sat my mom down and told her, to our surprise the first thing she said said was "i wondered when you were going to tell me" After that we waited til my dad got home and told him he was a little bitupset cuz im his only lil girl but he got happy real quick. My fiance and i decided 2 wait til after the 1st trimester bout the baby but his mom found out the day after we found out his dad took it as about as good as my mom did. Now im 18 and due in middle of nov and everyone is so excited to have this little baby girl comin into our lives..especially since there arent that many girls in either of our families..lol

well if you do it the easy way she might be even more mad because she might feel like you cant talk to her and moms hate that when they feel their kids cant talk to them. And yeah it might be good to have your bf there if you tell her face to face so that you both have a chance to talk to her. Yeah she will be upset but that will pass by. She is your mom and she will be there for you no matter what.

Hey I'm in the same situation. I'm 20 live with my fiance my mom does not like and I'm torn on what to do as well. . I'm thinking its best to send her an email so she doesnt start screaming at me in public or making me feel bad. I'm happy and I think an email is the way to go because I cant tell her to her face. I'm 14 wks and have known since I was four weeks along and havent been able to bring myself to tell her.

so you still havent told her yet? haha well at least you have a fiance. i just have my boyfriend. she really likes him and everything. But im still not sure what to do and how to tell them. My dad is going to be hurt more than my mom i think. I am the oldest of three girls and he really is having trouble watching me grow up so fast. my mom feels the same way, but idk....i think she will be more supportive then him. well let me know when you tell her and i will let you know when i tell mine lol

Nope I havent told her yet. I don't want to disappoint her, but I know she'll get over it. My father passed away four years ago so its hard on me because he would have been the one to be really happy. my mom is the hardest one to tell for me. I will let you know and you keep me in the loop honestly just send her an email so she can cool down then tell her you didnt want to tell her in person because you were worried how she would react.

yeah for sure. i am going to tell her next saturday and believe me. im not ready to. this whole week i have time to plan what i am going to say, and if i should go with my boyfriend or not. We got pregant when we went on this trip to cali a month ago. and the funny thing about it is that my mom kept saying "your going to get pregnant! and me and your dad are not ready to be grandparents..." she kept saying that she knows what happens when two teenagers are alone...and i kept saying that nothing was going to happen and she has nothing to worry about...but now she does! cuz im definitly preggo! i am kinda starting to show. just barely tho. but she cant tell cuz im always in lounging around types of clothes lol but idk how she is going to take this. and im really scared to find out. i think that she will be more mad if i did the whole email thing so ill prolly do it in person. its going to take a lot of guts, but i have to do it some time ya know?

I think when I get paid on the 15th so i can take her out by herself. I'm worried I think I'm just going to take her out to dinner by herself to tell her maybe with my best friend otherwise ill never do it. her birthday is next month and I dont know what she'll do. I'm hoping she'll be happy. I think its going to be a shock at first but she'll be happy. the doctor told me not even two months ago that i had last 30% chance of having children without medicine and with meds its 40% . So the fiance and I are excited he was reallt shocked but is excited now. Guts yes and courage and its going to be crazy though.

I still live with my mom so i dont have a chance to just wait lol i wish i could tho. i really dont wanna tell her. my bf's dad is like super crazy mormon religious so he is going to flip too but i think me and himm are getting married b4 the baby comes

lol yea I'm happy i dont live with my mom. I feel bad cause i should have told her earlier. But we need to tell them and itll turn out better. Wow yea neither sides of our family is like that luckily. His family is happy. Wow thats good I kind of wish my fiance and I were getting married before our baby is born, but he said he isnt ready. We've been engaged for two years I dunno.

Thats crazy that he isnt ready. i am so ready to marry my boyfriend he is the "one" for me lol we have never gotten into a fight in the year we have been dating and we are both each others first boyfriend girfriend and eachothers first love. so im ready and so is he and i think my parents will be a little happier knowing were married.

Yea I just brought it up and he said hed like to but we cant afford a wedding. which is true but we may and just have a very small ceremony. Well be careful you want to take it slow. Ive been there my man and I have been together four years and lived together for 3 yrs. itll all work out.

I put my positive pregnancy tests and a note saying I was pregnant in an envelope and left it on the counter by the coffee pot. I went and stayed at a friends house for a while. They were perfectly fine with it.
