re: How to tell the parents your preggo...

i found out i was pregnant when i was around 6 weeks; though we had suspected for a couple of weeks beforehand. we didn't say anything for a couple of weeks, he told his parents first. i'm not sure exactly how he did it. i was 16, he had just turned 19.

when it came time to tell mine i was terrified, but it's certainly not something you can hide. it'll come out eventually, and probably be worse the longer you wait. i was 9 weeks when i finally told her.

anyway, i had the 'what to expect when you're expecting' book, she was cleaning out her car, and i kind of hid the book, and just stood around looking like an idiot for a while. finally got the courage and dropped the book onto the front seat.

she told my dad for me.

all in all it went well, i knew they'd be disappointed in me, but they were supportive in my decision of keeping the baby. they had issues with the father though, we wanted to get married, had planned to before me getting pregnant, but they wouldn't let us. we eventually did get married at 12 weeks, and the rest is history.

that was 5 years ago now.

My mum said if i ever got pregnant she'd kik me out the house =S

Well, I called and told my mom while she was at work.
Thank goodness she didnt go all weird on me !

My mom was veryveryvery supportive over my pregnancy && she loves my baby more than anything.

I was 18 when i found out i was pregnant now 19.I was not scared to tell my mom because she was wanted to be a grandma before she turned 40 she is about to be 38 on nov.15 which is actually my due date so she is very happy to have her first grandchild on her own b-day and she's even more happy is a girl.My boyfriend was nervous to tell her so i had to do it by myself i just showed her the pregnancy test i took at home she was very excited she called the whole family to tell them.My mom was the one to buy everything for the nursery and every time she goes shopping she always brings the baby something .So my daughter is not born yet but already very spoiled by grandma.

Hey everyone.. I am 17 and 31 wks preg. (almost 8 months! YAY! he's due Nov.15!) Anyways.. i'm having a boy and i am naming him Jacobi Adlen. Everyone is so excited for me,and of course..i'm excited too! (: BUT..they werent always excited. I was like wayyyy late for my period..and i kept waiting on it and waiting and my mom kept saying "have you gotten your period yet?" (i guess thinking i was possibly pregnant) and of course..i hadnt yet.. sooo finally my mom wasnt home one night and my babys daddy,my grandma,and me were sitting around talking and decided to run up to the store to get a preg. test. I took it and the lines were VERY light. I was like "nahh grandma..thats too light." Hahaha. And then.. she reads the back of the box "Even if there are 2 lines but they are just very light it is still positive" soo i was like "Um..no..thats wrong" LOL.. Soo.. we run up to the store for ANOTHER one. It does the same thing. That was on a Friday,I think? and so.. that whole w/end was pretty crazy with lots of emotions until Monday when I could go see for sure. Well I went to the health dept. and find out that I am for sure.. and get my due date and whatnot. Right after my grandma,me,and my bf leave there we decide to run by his house (he lives with me) and tell his mom. Well he was freakinggg out.. he was like "i'm gonna throw up" HAHA..but she was sooo cool. she goes "aww yay! im gonna be a grandma! congrats!" i was like "oh wow." But then it was time.. to go home... and tell.. MY crazy mom. LOL i love her to death but i just knew she would go crazy. [Shes just the dramatic type ha] She was like "WHAT!! oh my god.. oh my god" .. and then she goes upstairs. Well my bf decide to go see how she's taking it and go to her room. Well she was on the phone talking to her friend and telling him about it and then she looks at us and smiles and just says "aww i was looking at this little baby at the store the other day and i wanted to hold it sooo bad. well yall have to get everything together." and then she goes .. "welp..im gonna be a grandma" and i was TERRIFIED to tell my dad AND my older brother.. Well my mom tells my dad one day on the phone and i about killed her. LOL but he came down within the next few days and said "well there is a rumor going around that im gonna be a grandpa" Haaha...and then someone slipped up and told my brother.. he had a little talk with me and stuff.. but it was all good. Everyone is sooo excited now and cant wait for him. Neither can I. Just go ahead and get it over with.. it'll be okay in the end.

well with my 1st my baby daddy did it all .... i told my mom while i was in the kitchen i was only 15 i came in the roon and she was crying and i star to cry with her i knew i disapoint her specially cuz my other sister that at the time was only 18 just had a baby.... so imagine she was upset but then she said she luvs me no mattter what and she's like my best friend now i can tell her anything and she understand... well my dad we not so close and he's wasnt really a good dad so i didnt care much about what he had to say anyways so i just told him look i'm pregnant and that was it... now with my baby that is due March 08 it was diff cuz i just got married on 6/2 and we wasnt plaing on having kids for the next 5yr or so but it happen well we lieve at my house with my mom so we got a pregancy test and i did it my hubby is so happy he's going to be a daddy... well i told him to throw it out the test kit but i thought he will be smart and go to the garbege out side the house well no he didnt he went to the one in the bathroon and left it right on top.... so of course my mom got home from work and she saw the test and ask my sister that was at the house if he was hers of course she said no.... well then went i got home she was acting funny but didnt say anything well at nite went we were going out me and my hubby she ask me and she was like " is that pregancy tes that i found and it is positive yours??? well i had to say the true and i told her Yes and she was happy... my mother inlaw jsut guess cuz my bress got really big so we took her out to dinner for her b-day and after that she was like u pregnant rite and that was it everyone is happy now.

omg...when i found out i was pregnant it was crazy i didn't know how to tell my mom...so i waited a couple days later but me n my boyfriend was waiting for the right moment..finally we got the courage to tell her...she didn't believe us at first n though we were lying...then she ask us how we found out n we told her that i took the pregnancy test...she was just laughing n shock i guess...that day she was find with me...but the next day omg...she was mad at me for like 5 min n was giving me a little speech...but after that me n her haven't been closer than ever...my advice for any of u just tell your parents...at first they probably will be mad but they will get over it...n its better for them to be there with u...n who knows maybe u guys will be closer than ever...

Well i just turned 18 in july and i recently found out im pregnant....and i dont know how to tell my parents...im too scared of what their going to think and how thier going to feel.....i know this is not what they wanted for me but what can i say it happened and now that i think about it im happy it did because its a blessing not something to be ashamed about...but i still cant bring myself to tell my parents...someone please give me some advice  

well tellin my mom wasn't as bad as i thought... see my mom has 5 kids already and im here 2nd oldest. I'm 18 and she's 38 so she had me at 20 and my oldest sister at 19. i found out wen i was about 2 months so i came home from work one day and she kept askin me wats bothering me... so i tole her and surprisingly she wasnt upset at all jus a tad bit dissapointed i guess (whew)... Now the guy who helped create me i jus tole him about 2 months ago...he cried and cried and cried   Now we dont even speak...do i regret it no..but i do miss him but i have more things to think aout lik my beautiful baby boy Adonis that's due in about 3 months  

I told my mom that i know im pregnant. i havent taken a test yet but i know i am. i was only on birth control for 3 weeks and missed it for 3 weeks and i had sex the 3 weeks i missed my patch and it was unpretoected, almost every day, he would sometimes "ejaculate" in me twice a day. and if i am, i am 4 weeks and my mom knows and she cried. i still havent told my dad or other family, well, because im only 17 and i know they would be dissapointed in me. today was the first day i had really bad nausea. i was talking to my friend and all of a sudden i felt like i was gonna puke! it was so weird! and i have been wanting pickles. i made the babys daddy go get me pickles and fruit punch. oh, btw, the father has a fiancee that i didnt know about. so i am really pissed at him! i mean who wouldnt be?! he lied to me AND got me pregnant!! he better believe hes gonna help me!!! or it will be his a@#!!! haha.

Oh God, I was scared sh!tless about telling my dad, not so much my mom, but my dad is really traditional - no sex before marriage.
but he knew I went out with someone who was 9 years older than me so I'm sure he knew I wasn't a virgin...but still I was so nervous

I told my mom separately, she was surprised, shocked, scared, but so supporting! She said she would help me tell my dad which I appreciated so much
The next night we sat down in our kitchen, and I just said it "Dad, I'm pregnant" but in Russian haha
He just stared at me for like 10 minutes then finally said, "Who's the father" When I told him who, he seemed relieved cause he likes Marc and has known him a long time, since his family lives next door to us
He asked me if I was going to keep it, how far along I was, was Marc going to be involved etc.
He went out for a drive, probably to gather his thoughts
When he came home, he kissed me on the top of my head and I knew he was okay with it and has been 100% supportive since!

thayre moving to chicago this summer..
and my due day is on feb 28.  

I'm 21 and was very scared to tell my mom that I was pregnant because she is so religious and always stressed to me that I should wait til I'm married to have sex. But I told her anyway and she was very happy. My dad on the hand was angry but he's okay now.
