re: How to tell the parents your preggo...

I found out that I was pregnant a week after I moved down to Texas. I didn't tell my mom till April 1st and I was 7 months in and I asked her acting all curious and calm (even though I was scared out of my mind and sadly it was on the phone) on how she would feel about having a grandchild. Well she thought I was talking about my 16 year old brother and his girl friend and she blew up stating that it wouldn't be her problem and she wouldn't claim it as her grand child. it took about 35 mins for her to calm down and actually listen to what I was saying. by that time my mom in law walked outside and could literally hear my mom billegerant rant from the phone and no my mom wasn't on speaker. I told her that I was 7 months pregnant and the first words out of her mouth were incoherent (well to me they were) and finally after several "WHAT MOM?! SPEAK CLEARLY!!" she said "you ruined your life. I don't want to be a grandma and don't ever call me again." so that was the last time that I have talked to her... but thats ok, my parents have serious issues when it comes to things like that.

Well it was my boyfriends birthday and we had been drinking.
And i didnt realize until later that night that i was 5days late on my period.
So i go to krogers and get a prenancy test. I come back to his house and i take it.
Well it comes back in like 2secs(no joke) and it says postive.
And we had been trying for a baby and i didnt think i could get pregnant.
So my mouth dropped and two of my girlfriends were there.
And i didnt say anything i just showed them the pregnancy test.
Well i went back and got anouther one and it came postive as well.
And i didnt sleep at ALL that night.
The next day i cannot get any of this off of my mind.
So i call my mom and i was like...
" what are you doing"
She said ohh nothing.
And i just burlted out "im pregnant"
She said SARAH IM GONNA KILL YOU.
But later that night she really comforted me and she is here for everything and anything that i need.

God mothers are such a blessing.

Well I havent been able to bring myself to tell my mom yet. I'm 20 and my fiance is 20 too, well we were not expecting to get pregnant. Well I kept telling him when I missed my period I was, not until I went to the doctor did he believe me. Well I'm 9 wks now and I havent been able to tell my mom. I live with my fiance, work full-time, and am in college.
I'm not sure how to tell her because she was a single mom for eights years and still is. I guess I just don't want to let her down. I know I need to tell her and I think she can already tell something is up, any ideas on how to tell her?
My dad is gone so I don't have to tell, heck that would have been the easiest person to tell, but I dunno what to do. My fiance's family is all very excited.

My mom was a single mom since day one. As soon as my dad found out my mom was prengnat he left. So i understand what your saying.

Each parent is differnet mine took it very well actually.
She used to always tell me if i got pregnant at a young age she would kick me out.
Well she bought me a 150$ eddie bauher basenet.
She has bought baby clothes.
And im STILL living in her house.

Im sure my mom is disapointed. But no matter what she is going to be here for me.

I would just tell your mom. The sooner the better is what i think.
I would just sit her down and lay it out. There isnt any easy way of putting "im pregnant" ya know?

I told my mom over the phone because i was scared she would kill me.
She thretend lol but now she is excited.

If your mother is a good mother she will love you no matter what and she will be there for you.

OMG ok im 17 but at the time i was 16..I had passed out at work on Dec. 11th [2007] and so my mom took me to the ER.. They said nothing was wrong and even took s preg test and it came bak NEGATIVE! Well they did a spinal tap and put IVs in me and everything. Well my mom scheduled my first appt with the gyno on Jan. 2nd. We went and she asked when my last period was and i couldnt remember so she said we needed to do a pregnancy test so we did. It came bak positive and she wanted to do an ultrasound to confirm since the negativve in the ER. She did one and sure enough it was there. I had to tell my mom in a doctors office [IT SUCKED]..2 weeks later we went back nd this is what i got..

Wow, that is SOOOOO against the law. Your Dr. could actually lose his liscense for that.....

I didn't, butthey like.. called up their lawyers and made sure that it was alright or something. I was like under age or something like that.

even though you were underage he shouldnt have told your parents because thats breaking patient-doctor confidentality. Hes not allowed to do that unlessyou are dyingor gave him your permission.

Hi I'm actually 23 yrs old and terrified to tell my parents I'm preg. I know I shouldn't be scaredbecause I'm old enough, but I still live with them. Now me, my boyfriend and my family are planning the big wedding, which me and him planned it for within 2 months, for the reason that I am so scared to tell my parents and think it will be much easier to tell them afterwe're married, I hope I don't show that much to the point where my parents will find out I'm pregnant before I get married. the easiest thing to do is tell them. the longer you wait the more mad they will be. trust me

Yep, that would still be illegal.

He cannot tell them unless you give him permission to. Dosent matter how old you are. Dotor patient confidentiallity.

did you really I may have to do that I cant bring myself to do it any other way.

I found out I was pregnant for sure suber bowl night. The next day my parents had the day off and I knew I should tell my mom right away. Have in mind that my mom and I are 3 days difference in our pregnancy by that I mean in age. She got pregnant same age as me. 17. So I called my mom and had her pick me up from school cuz I was feeling awful and told her that I didnt feel good and told her my symptoms and she almost started crying and said we'll go get you a pregnancy test. And I took it when I got home and we both cried. but I'm glad my mom and I have a pretty close relationship like we do. My dad was a different story hes VERY protective of me. and I told my real dad and he was excited and disappointed. and then the rest of the family found out. : ]
