re: How to tell the parents your preggo...

I'm 17 and I have not told my parents yet. This is my third pregnancy but the first one that is going to becarried to full term. My mom is real old school and I know she is going to be really hurt. I took two HPT, both were First Response and both times I got really light second lines, I know I'm pregnant but I am going to go get a blood test to confirm. I have no idea how I am going to tell her, being that Im her aspiring ballerina and college student. My biggest concern for telling my mom is definitly the dissapointment factor, I guess I will just show her the blood test paper...lol. ohhhh GOSHH!

That was an extrememly hard one for me to do...

I was 18, a couple months just graduated from high school, I had plans to join the navy but had some knee problems and couldnt, and my mom was litterally my best friend. She asked me if i was before I officially knew that I was pregnant so i just said i dont know...

The time was never right to tell her because my stepdad was making her life hell and so was my brother and i just couldnt handle seeing her any worse off then she was. I was 4 months pregnant when she found out...actually I wrote her a letter because I couldnt tell her to her face and she called me and told me she already knew (which i have no idea how because you couldnt tell at all)

Then she kicked me out and we havent talked since...its been 5 months. I moved to alaska from california and she said she wanted nothing to do with me...

It was so hard because I lost my best friend, and my mom

but really, I couldnt be happier...Im getting married, my boy is due any day now (actually it was yesturday but) and moving was the best experience of my life

wow honey, im so sorry that has/had to happen to you. 

I'm 21 and when i told my mom i was scared but she actually didnt care, she said she already knew it, which is funny cause it seems i was the last to know and i was the one knocked up, lol. but even still today whenever i talk about it she says " look i have 6 kids already i know how pregnancy goes" i showed her the first picture of the baby and she literally tossed it aside and said i've seen six of them before krystal, i know what they look like. She says she's excited to be a grandmother, but NEVER wants to hear about it or just shrugs it off when i say something. It's starting to hurt me a lot. And she honestly has been my best friend through everything, and she even adores my husband, but she just doesnt seem to give a rats ass about her first granddaughter/grandson  
my dad on the other hand is so extremly excited!! lol

i'm 16 turning 17 in a week. my boyfriend is turing 18 this weekend. i'm not sure if i'm pregnant and if i am my parents would never understand. my mom is crazy. she told me to my face when my older sister (she's 32) called and told us she's pregnant (due in october) that if i ever tell her i'm pregnant she's kick me out and tell me to come back alone or not at all. i said what if i wanted to keep the baby. she said she would do everything in her power so i dont have it. i ran to my room and called my boyfriend crying. he said that after i turn 17 we'd talk to his mom if i could move in. i told her i think im pregnant she was the one who gave me the money for a home test. my mom beat me when i told her my boyfriend asked me to marry him and i said yes. why can't she ever be happy for me?

It was the hardest thing in my life! haha i didnt know how my parents were gonna react since im only 15....my mother got pregnant with my older brother Cody when she was 13 and my dad was 14 so they really understood. me and my boyfriend David just got both of our parents in the same room together and he told them. they were shocked at first, well his parents were. they told us they needed time to talk about it and then they came to his room a couple minutes later and i said that they didnt care, next thing i know me and my mom r looking up baby names.

I told my husbands parants by, his mom brought the test to her, and his dad i bought a bib, my mom i told over the phone cause i was scared they wouldnt understand, after a day after i had told them, mom foound out how i told his parents and was kinda upset and wished i had done something special, i did to, i was just scared, and im 20 and live on my own lol, and married, but i as afraid they wouldnt understand, but now i wish i would have done something special...

i told my mom in person. And then i knew my dad would flip out and go crazy so i wrote him a letter and left my house for a few days  until he calmed down. Now everything is great and he is so happy to be a grandpa  well not yet but   yea  =)

i waited until i got the ultrasound picture than i took a picture of the ultrasound with my phone and sent it to her in a text message. She was very happy and immediately started buying baby stuff, I now have to get up the courage to tell my uncle since me and him are closer than me and my mom

I think honestly, my mom knew before i did ! she asked me just about every week beofre i found out, "your gaining alot of weight !" Of course, i took it offensivly, but then i thought about it & realized i could be pregnant. My mom was the one who took me to the doctor's & they told me that the result's were positive ! As soon as i knew, i ran into the waiting room & told her. She was cool with it &truthfully, she's very supportive !

My fiance and I told my parents the day we found out. We sat them down and they knew what was coming... we actually had to beg them to listen to us because they did not want to deal with it at the time. We just told them straight out that we were pregnant, and we had thought about our options and because we are becoming a family anyway, we were going to keep the baby. We also asked if they would be willing to let us move the wedding up. My fiance told my dad he was willing to take the job he had offered him, and that he wanted to take the next two semesters off college until we were able to earn enough money for him to go back to school on his GI bill. It really helped that we had a plan, it took a lot of the stress off my parents because they saw that we had really thought things through and we were going to step up. They did not have to be the ones that ran into rescue me. My parents were disapointed at first... we were the couple that said in the beginning we would not kiss before our wedding, after that failed it became abstinence before marriage. But they were very supportive and still are. Now my fiance and I own our first home, we are getting married in 1 week 5 days and we have more than any young couple could imagine. Obviously my story is probably pretty rare, the supportive familys, supportive father, and financial stability. Therefore I applaud girls who have it much harder and still decide to go through with their pregnancies. I find that so admirable.

I don't think I made the right choice. I was 18 when I found out I was pregnant, soon to be 19. I ended up telling the father first, and he of course ran and told his parents. They were ok with it. I was scared to death to tell mine, so a few days later, his mom called my mom and told her, before I had the chance to do it. She said my mom literally passed out. My brother had to take the phone and give it to my dad, so his mom had to tell my dad too. But they were both ok with it. We sat down and talked about it and now they couldn't be any happier. For christmas my dad made some furniture for the baby's nursery and he bought him an "i love my grandpa" bib. And I am having a rough pregnancy, and they are right by my side every time I need to go to the hospital. The father is no longer in the picture, which makes them even happier lol my little boy is due in July and I am so glad my parents are so supportive!

I'm sixteen years old and I was pregnant in March of 2007, but I had a misscarriage. It was hard, but my father tried to calm me down as I cried for hours because of the loss. My father took it a lot easier then my mother did. My mother acted like it never happened and that I wasn't in pain for a full week.

It's once again March, this time it's 2008. I had given myself time to think about my last pregnancy the past week. Then I noticed some things that were going on with my body that had happened last March.

I have had unprotected sex before in other months, and because of not getting pregnant durring any other month of the past year, I had a huge doubt in my mind that I would ever get pregnant again.

So around monday, I decided to take a pregnancy test just in case. The test came out negative. I was very upset. My fiance and I have been looking forward to having a baby and starting our family here soon.

Even though the box said not to look at the pregnancy test over ten minutes, I look at it again after I got home from school that day. Weirdest thing, it said possitive. I was shocked. So wednesday I took another one.

This one came out possitive. My fiance and I were so happy. I took another one this morning to be on the safe side and found the test to be possitive. This afternoon I went in to a clinic and had them confirm my pregnancy.

I'm four weeks pregnant and I'm due December 2, 2008. Now, I have to work up the nerve to tell my parents. My fiance and I are going to my father's this saturday and we are going to break the news that we are pregnant and that we are engaged.

Over spring break I'm going to call my mom over spring break while I'm at my dad's and tell her over the phone because she has been known to be physically violent. She has already told me once that I would get an abortion if I was pregnant.

But, law stats she can't make me. So, I'm afraid of what is going to go down. I at least will have a job over summer and my fiance works, and will soon graduate, and get a full time job.

I'm still just worried about telling my parents. It's going to be hard, but I will. And we have to talk about telling his parents as well...

Well me and my mom are really close it was wierd because she asked me why i did not have my period and i said i dont no because i took a test and it said i wasent so i though that i was good . Well i ended up haveing really bad pain in my side so i went to the hospitel and found out there i was 5 weeks . It was hard to telll my mom because she had me real young . well at frist she wanted me to no keep it and then she came around so it work out ok at the end

well i was at my parents house in indiana..they were in florida on vaca! i was having my boyfriend ((now fiance)) stay with me. i was already 25 days late but really just didnt think anything of it..till i started getting sick in the mornings. so my bestie can over with her boyfriend and the boys stayed at my house and play xbox 360 while me and my bestie snuck to walgreens to get a HPT. i was scared to tell nick i was taking it at first. but ended up calling him up to my bathroom and told him that i think im pregnant and i am about to take a test and ask if he would like to be there with me. so he sat on the bath/spa while i took the test..PREGNANT! two days later i called my mom who was still in florida and told her that i was late took a test and that it came back pregnant. she was mad at first and wanted me to get rid of it and not tell anyone about the pregnancy. but now she is being very helpful..she hard on me but i know she just teaching me its not gonna be easy!
My advice to you reading these trying to figure out ways to tell is it doesnt matter how u tell. but tell asap. dont wait becuz even if they are mad they will love u and bethere for u. give it time. my mom has help me get medicade and been putting gass in my car to get to appt. and she even told me shes glad that i told her sooner then later on.
