GED.

ok,so i wasnt sure where to post this, and sorry if this is a stupid question.
But, i was just wondering what is so bad about getting your GED?
i've just been having alot of issues with school, and i am considering to just get my GED since nothing else is working out. And my mom agrees that thats like the only option left at the moment, but she just keeps telling me 'i've always dreamed of seeing my daughters well educated and working a successful career when they were grown'
but isnt getting your GED still getting your education?

Not a damn thing! My brother got a GED and is majoring in Criminal Justice at Southern University of Shreveport right now.

I have my GED.

I'm heading torwards getting my BSN.

I think they just say that b/c a diploma sounds better or looks better on your resume or whatever....but its the same thing pretty much

My sister lives in Shreveport. She's an MP.

Many see it as it is. It is often assumed that the person's work ethic may be poor. If they couldn't/didn't finish H.S. but got a GED , why then would they be a good worker. I am NOT saying this is how I think. My husband is a Navy recruiter and it is difficult for persons with GED to join the service. They have to have at least a 50 out of 99 on the ASVAB or have completed so many college credits if they wish to enlist.

Then i'm going to school to become a Labor and Delivery Nurse.

There is no problem with it! People with GED's can get into some good colleges!

Nothing. I have neither, I would take a GED over nothing anyday!

yea i got my ged and im gonna start nursing school soon nothing really just it basically says u didnt complete high school not in the literal matter but when u say i have a ged ppl r like o0oh... lol but its the same thing my mom was sad i left school but n the end she was happy i was doing right by my daughter and getting my education

Nothing at all.

There's nothing wrong with it...people just try to make someone feel bad because they have one. When In all reality you can still go to college and have a good life with one.

I hate when people say that, I got accepted into nursing school with a GED...... obviously it isn't all that bad.
