Infant CPR

Thanks bedtimebear for this great sticky idea!
Will you know what to do if your child/infant, or even a complete stranger chokes or stops breathing? It's a good idea to be prepared, even if the situation never arises.
Here are some links that can be useful in taking CPR classes.

If you have more links or useful information, please share so we all can be better prepared

I googled Infant CPR, and it shows a short "how to" video clip that I found really helpful! Ya just NEVER KNOW when you might need this!

Excellent idea. I'm CRP certified for work, but it's adult CPR. I want to take an infant CPR class.
My husband is a paramedic, so thank god he's very familiar with this stuff and annually renews his PALS certification.

i just took a course yesterday!! its quite simple and i think every mother should know what to do in the event the baby quits breathing or starts choking. Learn what to do if the baby is choking also...they taught this to us along with infant cpr at the american heart association class i took at the hospital.

I have been adult and infant cpr trained for over two years because of work, but I was trained through American Red Cross one time and a cheaper more generic company the second time who used like a video and had only one person come in to actually work with us.
I am sure it is a little more expensive, but if you pay to have this training I REALLY suggest going through the Red Cross, or someone at that level, the other cheaper companies are just not the same. I have had other co workers who I was trained with agree with me too, so I know I am not alone on this.
And I wanna say the last time I checked it was only like $40 bucks to get certified in adult and infant cpr. So its not that bad, and they also do first aid training there too, which is also useful.

Hey girls! I am still young, (1 and was a lifeguard for the past 3 summers! I took my CPR classes through the Red Cross and they taught us Adult, Child and Infant CPR. It's not MUCH different but different enough that you should know! Like on an infant you only use two fingers instead of two hands, and on infants and children you only do 1/30 instead of 2/30. I really suggest checking it out, everybody! =)

My husband and I are taking a private class in CPR a couple of months before the baby is due. I figured having a baby in the house we need to know.

I have my healthcare provider level CPR cert. It was a good class to take. I really feel prepared on how to react and respond in different situations. Everyone should take some kind of CPR class.

I don't know what I'd do if I wasn't an EMT and knew how to take care of my kids in those kind of emergencies...I would probably worry about them all the time! Around here (I don't know how it is in other states) you can call any local fire department, they offer first aid/cpr courses, which include infant. The first aid would really come in handy, too!
