Has any breastfeeding moms...

tried Mothers Milk Tea? I just ordered some, so I could give my supply a little 'push'. When Boston got out of the NICU I was able to pump 9 ounces out every 3 hours...now he is breastfeeding, but my supply has gone way down. If I try to pump, I get maybe 4 ounces, so I just want alittel boost. What have others done to give themselves a boost?? I have also started pumping after her nurses to keep the body making extra milk. Any suggestions?

I havent tried but always wondered about it.. Let me know how it goes and if it works..

I take fenugreek every now and then. You can get it at vitamin stores and places like that. The general rule of thumb with it is to take 3 capsules 3 times a day. The downside is it makes you sweat the smell of maple syrup lol. If you are taking it and NOT smelling it, increase the dosage by one capsule.

It really has helped me. I think my body takes to it pretty well, because I take it sporadically and not always the right amount and it still does its job.

And just a little FYI, what you can pump is no indication of how much milk you make. Some women make enough milk to feed an army of babies, and can't pump but an ounce. Your baby is much more efficient in getting your milk out. Is your son not satisfied after he nurses? Has his wet/dirty diapers decreased at all? Is he gaining right? Those are better indicators of your supply.

I drank it a few times.. It isn't bad just drink it warm and I added honey   You can get it at GNC if you have any near you for about 5-6 bucks a box.

iv tried the mothers milk tea and i hated it with honey so i drank it without.. its not good without either though. it has the same ingredient as black licorice which is anise seed. not a fan here.. so after i finished a box of that i got the fenugreek caplets.. i like them and i dont mind smelling like syrup.. id rather that than black licorice.. sick. you dont need the herb though if you are pumping after he nurses.. that should do the trick.. when you said now you are only pumping four ounces is that AFTER he nurses?

I've tried as well as pumping after most feedings and the combination made a difference. I wanted to try it as well as boost my supply so I could start storing some milk. I hate black licorice but I didn't think the ea was bad though.

You know, the syrup smell doesn't bother me either. I don't even notice it really, neither has anyone else. I noticed Emma's palm smells like syrup lol.

I thought I would run around smelling like IHOP!
