sex and hot tubs after c-section... what are the risks???

i had my son on the 15th by c-section so im not quite 2 weeks post partum yet... but i was wondering what exactly the risks are of having sex before the 6 weeks is up. my dr told me to wait 6 weeks but didnt really explain why. also im wondering if getting in a hot tub would hurt me as well... were visiting his family outta town and my sex drive is back and im dyin to jump into the hot tub!!! lol i got my staples out monday and my dr said i have a little bit of infection in my incision and put me on antibiotics. im feelin great now! and im thinking about trying to have sex tonight so if anyone has any tips or input lemme know!

were going to use a condom so i wont get pregnant again... will that lessen the chances of infection? also did everyone wait the full 2 weeks to drive??? cause its killing me not to be able to drive.

Regardless of a C-section you shouldn't be having sex in water anyways.

He took the staples out Monday and said you ahd aa bit of an infection right??

HOT TUB- You could make the infection worse cause it's barely been a week since you started the antibiotics, although it appears closed now you could STILL open you incision back up..so i would say a nive hot dip is NOT worth the pain you'd be in afterwards!

As for the SEX....I waited 2 1/2 weeks after my 1st and 2 weeks after my second so I'm not very helpful about that...but my doctor basically told me when you're ready you're ready/

i wouldn't do the hot tub. i had a c-section with my daughter. and they tell you to wait to full 6 weeks bc you're at more risk for infection. i personally waited until i was 3 weeks pp. i had stopped bleeding and my incision was healing quite well.. i was very careful.. you cant do any crazy smurf this soon after baby. im not saying it's ok to have sex before 6 weeks. bc the drs do have a reason for telling you to wait. im just saying i personally chose not to wait.. but i had already gotten rid of my infection on my incision and had stopped bleeding. so the sex choice is up to you. id wait at least one more week. two would be better. but i definately would not get in the hot tub...

They don't just pull that number out of their ass. Wait until you see a doctor especially if you already had an infection. The risks outweigh the benefit. An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.

here's a tip...

Sex in dirty water and fresh incision equals INFECTION. Just because it appears closed doesn't mean it's healed fully.

i waited a week to drive after my csection, and actually my dr said i could so long ias i didnt take the pain pills. as far as sex, i waited 4 weeks, but we did the withdrawl method. and hot tubs are a horrible idea you arent even cleared for a bath in a tub...so no def dont do that!
