Why does it burn

posted 18th Dec '06
Ok i know my body isnt working the way its supposed to. Everything is fine sexually except for one little problem. When we have sex it doesnt hurt at the time but afterwards its painful. Is it because my body isnt making lubrication like it is supposed to. I mean my mind wants it but i guess my body doesnt. Afterwards I am very sore and it burns when i pee. I know that i dont have a pee infection or anything like that because after i go to sleep and wake up everything is back to normal. Does anyone else have this problem? What can i do about it?

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! omg i have this problem, i dont no wot it is, my midwife said its not a yeast infection or nething. But it sometimes hurts during sex, but it would burn really bad afterwards, then when i pee it burns, but then a couple of hours later im fine.
My husband and i used lubricant, but i dont think we used enough, because it still hurt afterwards.
I want to no wots going on is well, so im hoping someone will come to our rescue! LOL

wow...i thought i was the only one. so i guess apparently no one knows what the problem is? i know its not a UTI or anything and it doesnt hurt during sex but like all you girls said, afterwards oh my god it hurts and burns like hell, but then an hour or two later its fine! i considered asking my doctor what it was, but then is it really a big deal? maybe its just because of pregnancy. but yeah like someone said earlier in my mind i want sex reallllyyyy bad but then i guess my body doesnt!!! it sucks!!

Thank goodness you all went through this!
I just started noticing the burning pain after sex when i pee about a month or 2 ago. It almost makes me not want to have sex b/c i dont want to feel that afterwards.
But at least you are all having sex still! My husband said he's almost intimidated b/c he's afraid of breaking my water. UGH! then again, i am 39wks pregnant! haha. But Enjoy alllll the sex now ladies! We went from 2times a day to maybe 1time in 2weeks.
I hate not feeling sexy anymore. But we always talk about how we cant wait till i heal after having the baby. The baby is the first grandchild on both sides of the family... sooo everyone wants to watch him for us!

GoodLuck to allll of you

okay, so i've ALWAYS had this problem from the first time ive ever had sex. ive asked my gyno but she had no idea what the hell i was talking about and told me she thought i wasnt using enough lubrication. which isnt true, because ive used A LOT a few times, and it doesnt matter. it still hurts during sex and after sex. so i guess we all just live with it... =[

No, you should be peeing after sex to prevent UTIs.

Sweat and other fluid from individual men can irritate a lot of women, individual ph levels could be a factor, [as in, some men may irritate the vag and urethral opening, while others won't], also if her urethral opening is easily irritated by the rubbing or bumping of his pubes or pubic bone against it.

Also, store-bought lube can sometimes temporarily irritate.

I am pregnant and have even had this problem before I got pregnant. My husband is afraid of hurting me because he knows about my problem. So, i went to my doctor and he suggested not enough lubrication and the type of lube you use. DO NOT use anythi g that is scented or warming. None of those. The more natural the better. This is not an STD or anything. I am completely clean, and so is my husband. But, that brings me to another thing, make sure both of you guys have showered because, sweat and dirt can be a serious irritation. I am going to continue to find a solution to this because i dont want to ruin this great sex life. I suggest talking to your soctor avout a pill (safely used during pregnancy) or cream to solve the problem.

This has been happening to me since I started having sex. If i am REALLY wet and turned on, it isn't as bad. But other times it's the same thing. burning when I pee and my lips get super swollen and red. I know some people can be allergic to semen. Maybe that might be it?
But when you put lube on, make sure to put a lot around your clit. that seems to help a bit. and showering after, letting the water just hit it feels so much beter. and ice for the swelling.
I think its just the friction rubbing raw. Imagine just rubbing your arm over and over again, after about 15 mins its going to get sore and red. And since being pregnant you have more bloodflow there, it can get irritated a lot more easily (even though it already is a very sensitive area)
If anyone finds a solution to prevent it from happening, that would be amazing. But so far I just we either just deal with sex and pain or no sex at all
