Teeth Brushing...

posted 22nd Nov
I have a 21 month old son who refuses to let me brush his teeth! I have tried letting him but he just sucks on it, I have tried the toddler tooth paste, letting him brush with me. Nothing seems to work. I hate fighting him but refuse to give up cause teeth are very important. My nephew who is 5 recently went the the dentist for the first time and already needs a root canal and had two caps put on. I know most of that is from not being taken care of and sleeping with bottles/cups in bed, but still. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance

With my son I just hold his head and brush them all real good. He gets mad at me but then I let him do it which is mainly sucking on the toothbrush but at least it makes him happy after me brushing them all for him. He always begs to go brush his teefies lol. It sucks having to do it when he hates it BUT it's better then him getting cavaties!

Definately better than cavaties. I try holding his head still but he seriously fights with all he has.

Maybe just hold his head & brush his teeth .
my daughter loves brushing her teeth, she brushes her teeth 3 times a day if not more. She'll let me brush her teeth & tongue and then she'll brush them herself.

She has a stool at the sink, she grabs her own tooth brush & when she brushes she'll turn on the water and put her tooth brush under because she sees me doing that .
