Raw cookie dough

Is it safe to eat while breastfeeding?

Peanutbutter as well?

My mum told me its not.

I eat it umm. I'm sure it would be fine. The other day I made 1 1/2 of a batch just to eat some of it before cooking the rest

I don't see why not to the PB, cookie dough though I have issues consuming raw egg lol

raw cookie dough is not safe to eat pregnant or not. The raw eggs can give you salmonella.
Peanut butter is fine. Eaten on crackers it can get rid of nausea. (it chemically balances out the acids and bases in your stomach)

Store bought cookie dough, probably fine, since they pasteurize it. Homemade? Hell no.

Nobody is supposed to eat raw cookie dough.

I know your not supposed to eat raw cookie dough, I was just wondering if it could hurt my LO because I'm breastfeeding him.

Avoiding certain foods does not prevent a child from developing allergies to it (per Nina Planck's nutrition/healthy eating books). Also, if the eggs are pasteurized, there shouldn't be bacteria in the eggs to make you sick from the cookie dough. If they are farm fresh, unpasteurized (generally can only get this kind from someone who raises chickens and sells their own eggs, not from a store) avoid them.

I do not know, I do not get WIC. I was just stating I do not eat it. To each their own.

I don't eat anything raw with egg in it. Too afraid of salmonella (sp)

Even, say, worst case scenario you ate some bad cookie dough, you would be the only one sick. You wouldn't get your LO sick because it only will affect your stomach.

i ate like 1000000 reeses during halloween while BFing...i'm sure it's fine....
and cookie dough...just be careful with it....


if anything eating PB while BFing might help from your LO from getting an allergy to it...
