Breastfeeding and dieting.

posted 19th Nov
So I don't want to cut calories.

I want to know what are the good foods I can get calories from.
Instead of sweats.

What are some foods that I can eat that are filled with lots of calories or whatever I need to get my supply up.

I also want to start working out.. but I have no idea where to start.

Continue taking a multivitamin. Avoid soy, tofu because it decreases milk production. Get orange veggies and leafy greens. Spinach, kale, carrots, sweet potatoes, squash.

Forget calories-- Between a woman's extra reserves (fat) and a typical american diet, you most likely have enough. More important than calories, as far as breastfeeding goes, is hydration. Make sure you are drinking enough water, milk, juice, etc., to keep yourself hydrated. Your body can pull reserve calories from elsewhere in the body, but not if it doesn't have the extra hydration needed.

Can you afford a gym membership? If you can that's a good place to start.
We can't right now so my husband is getting me the Wii Fit so I can get in shape and tone my body in places, not so much lose weight. I want an eliptical, but I probably will have to wait for that for awhile.
