Drying up milk ?

posted 19th Nov
What will help ? I had to give up breast feeding because it was causing panick attacks.. .. And now Im on medicine that doesn't make it safe for me to pump..

I pretty much dried up on my own with my older daughter, this time around it just wont let up..

Cabbage leaves work on the breast. Don't pump or stimulate milk production.

Take regular suddafed. It can cut your milk supply up to 50%.

I didn't need the rude comment but thanks!

I have serious anxiety issues to begin with.

who cares why she has to or wants to stop breastfeeding it's her child!

OP: Nothing honestly worked for me, it took about 2 weeks for my milk to dry up and was the most painful thing of my life! Tight sports bra and ice packs, tylenol and advil and whatever you do dont stimulate them!

not that i have anxiety issues but im sure the stress of it can cause panic attacks! you dont need to be rude if you dont know her situation!

as for drying up, id try the cabbage leaves or just let time work its magic.

I tried cabbage leaves also cause when I had my misscarraige I couldnt get my milk to dry up either. I finally called my doctor and found out I wasnt supposed to be taking hot baths cause that makes your milk come down. I guess your supposed to know that but i didnt. Ive also heard their is supposed to be a pill you can take but my dr. didnt mention it. Maybe you can ask your dr if nothing else works. Good luck!

I didnt want to stop either, and I hate how expensive formula is! But sometimes your body has other plans for you. My baby is 7 weeks old and as chunky, cute and happy as can be even without my milk!
