i hate the way jean sizes run....

posted 18th Nov
i brought 2 new pair of jeans yesterday. it is this place called platos closet here and ppl come and sell there gently used or never used clothes and its alot of really cute stuff there. I love shopping there and great bargains i got 2 pair of jeans for 6 dollars and 5 dollars!!! well there size 7s which i wear 7/8s i didnt try em on b/c i knew they would fit lol and if they didnt id just keep losing weight untill they do. i never buy bigger clothes when im a certain size a buy a size down and within a couple wks or a mth or 2 eventually ill fit in those jeans. its what keeps me on track. uuuuuuuugh....... owell hopefully ill be able to fit in these by christmas b/c that was my goal to just fit size 7s not 8s. but they look like size 5 jeans they are tiny lol.

i can get them up but i just cant button them its the fat on my hips still. i need to lose it along with the love handles. no matter how small i get if i dont lose the extra weight there i wont be at my goal size.

women's clothes are so NOT standard. That's why most women wear multiple sizes depending on the brand. I never buy clothes without trying them on.
I hate that most women are caught up in the size. Buy what fits and looks nice...screw the size.

I agree.

My husband is like "why do you have to try it on". Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh maybe becauseI wear 165461 different sizes depending on the brand, style, material, etc. I want to kick him everytime he HAS to ask

just os you know..

EVEN sizes [2, 4, 6, 8...]
are cut differently than odd sized [3, 5, 7..]

the EVEN sizes, are cut for WOMEN. they're wider through the hips/butt region
and the ODD sizes are more for the 'jr' section, they're narrower through the hips/butt area.

it is this way because womens bodies change so much between teen years and adult years... espically after children.

we're not like men who stay straight up and down from child to adult life.

I have a problem where I get saggy just under my butt, and I'm talking REALLY bad. I just found a great brand at Gordman's.. the Amethyst. They're a "designer" denim meaning a lot of detail in the stitching and stuff. They look and fit EXACTLY like the ones at rue21 and Vanity with the same pockets and wash and everything! I bought three for the price of one at the other stores :]

I've gotten jeans from Plato's before and you HAVE to try them on. I bought a Vanity brand jean (exactly like a pair I had) 26 x 35in.. but this chick had a HUGE butt because they were SUPER stretched out. I had to take them back. Always, always, ALWAYS try them on.

yep.. thats why womens clothing varies SOO much.

its easier to make a cut for a male than a female, too, b/c females are curvy and all different curves.

men dont have curves to try to fit to lol.

but yeah i wear an 8 in 'even' sizes. like AE or in womens dept
but an 11 in 'odd' sizes like the jr section because my hips are wide.

Oh god i am so sick of jean sizes.
I have no problems with other pants but jeans forget about it.
Every pair i find pushes the love handles up and out, even if they are slightly big on me.
