No one bashed you for not wanting to give your kid formula because that's your choice. I merely pointed out that FF DO get bashed and judge A LOT for not BF and it's complete bullshit.

That's awesome that you're proud of yourself, as you should be. But it's the ones who take that pride and ram it down people's throats and show themselves to be better than others that seem to ruin it for the others.

I do disagree with you saying that BF moms are judged for their choice to BF (on this site). It happens SO much less than it happens to the FFing moms. You can't argue with that either because it's true.

I completely agree with you. I BF and FF, and I feel like Ive been bashed for both. Not in this thread, not even on BG, but out here where I live. Some people think Im weird because I BF. 2 of my husbands cousins tried to tell me not to because they didnt enjoy the experience when they tried it. And then I had people in public get mad at me for it. And then i have people shoving "breast is best" down my throat because they see me give my son formula when out in public now. I BF at night, in the privacy of my own home, so I dont have to deal with bullshit from people. And then I get the bullshit about FF, from people I dont even know, wherever I go and here on BG. And thats what bugs me. Some people know that I BF and FF, and then theres a bunch that dont. And even though I said it in this thread quite a few times, I got accused of calling "the boob gross". Which I mean HELLO! I BF!
I think both FF moms and BF moms get too much shit for their choices. And I think its silly. Everyone has their own choice to make for their child. They make it with their SOs and their childrens doctors. We moms shouldnt be so upset with others when we disagree. I know that I joined this site not to hear what people think I do WRONG as a mom, but to get help and advice from other moms.
I know Im a little defensive, but after so many threads that Ive been called "a bad mom" in one way or another (not saying that happend in this one, but it has happened on others) It just gets tiring

I've been called gross, accused of molesting my kid, told I'm making my daughter gay, that I deserve to have her taken away, that I need to stop starving her because breastmilk isn't enough, and a whole buch of other bullshit. ON BG. So yes, I get bashed a lot on here for nursing. In this thread, after expressing that I've nursed another kid some chick with her ingorance in had threw the "that's gross" commments, then tried to back pedal by saying she meant no harm? Hello! Calling something gross is going to offend someone who does it. There are other words she couldve used, no? She's STILL calling wet-nursing gross when it saved my friend's kid's life.

So, in short, we get bashed just as much.

At least FF moms don't need laws to protect them. They've never been arrested, asked to leave a place, or reprimanded for feeding your kid the way god intended.

And yes, I'm getting defensive because your ignorance about the bullshit we get is astounding. But god for fucking bid someone makes a positive post about how you should bf, then we're a bunch of nazis.

I just read the inital post and watched the video. I havent read the 40+ pages.
My 2 cents:
Loved the video and I think much more should be done to promote BFing as well as BFing beyond the first few weeks of life.
BUT, I also think a lot more needs to be done to help women understand the challenges of it and how to handle them so they get a better start. We had a rough road. I was never able to make enough for my LO and eventually went totally dry by 3 months.
I hope to be blessed with another baby soon and cant wait to try again.

I am not saying that you bfing someone elses kid is gross. cause its not. And I think its fantastic that wet-nursing saved your friends childs life. Thats amazing. Im glad you were able to help them.

But for me personally, I would choose not to have someone else BF my son, unless it was the only thing we could do. Im sorry if that offends you in any way.

Most of the women on BG who say ignorant things about BF are mostly doing it to piss you off. Obviously it works so they're going to keep doing it. And plus, I've heard it a few times before too. I also get constant shit for FF my kid. So I really don't have much sympathy for you on that one being that I get it from both sides.
