Child Support Issue.

posted 17th Nov
Izzi already has health insurance, and we went to apply for me to get insuranse and for child care subsidy yesterday. They told me I need to fill out child support papers, and that's something I really do not want to do. Does anyone know if they can revoke Izzi's health insurance if I don't turn the papers in? I have other ways of getting health insurance and I can figure out a way to get other means of child care. I'm trying my hardest not to have to turn these papers in. Any advice would be helpful, but please don't just tell me to turn them in. I have my mind made up for personal reasons as to why I don't want to turn the papers in. Another question I have is what would happen if I lie and say that I have no clue who the father is or any possibilities? I really need some advice.

IMO you shouldn't ask for government assistance if your not willing to make the father of your child pay child support.

If you aren't willing to get the father to help, why would you want the government to? Lying is wrong and if they find out you are lying you could have to pay a huge fine and even go to jail.

I agree 100%
If the parents won't provide it, why should tax payers?

I don't know if it could work or not.

I just wanted to say though, I can empathize with you. Sometimes douchebags are better left out of the picture at all costs, and some people just can't see that. It's not always about $$$. Some kids really are better off without their dad.....and with child support, usually comes visitation.

Then why have a kid with him if his an ass! then make tax payers raise your kid

They can revoke her health insurance if they find out you are lying. I see that you said you can other health insurance and child care. I would go that route if you refuse to file for child support. I had to swallow my pride and file for child support for my son's sake...and I still cannot get any assistance. So if you are notwilling to ask the father for help, I don't think you should want the goverment to take care of you either.

I agree with both sides. You can't expect tax payers to pay for your child if you are not going to have the father pay. Is there a reason why you don't want the father involved? Is he abusive?

In that case the father wouldn't get visitation rights but he should still pay for child support if your asking for government assistance because it's his child not the tax payers! & if you can raise your kid without asking for any government assistance then you have that right.

Everything isn't always so black and white. Sometimes you don't realize they are an ass until after the fact. And I don't think getting assistance with medical insurance and daycare are making taxpayers raise your kids....and EVERYONE has to pay taxes, so who's to say who should pick and choose who needs help? That kind of assistance is generally temporary anyways, so again, I don't see it as her kid being raised by taxpayers.

I'm lucky enough to have a no visitation order against the father of my older two. But if I were to need assistance, I shouldn't get it because I don't want him to provide it? Is it really that bad that I'd rather get assistance from the state than see the emotional scars he inflicted upon my children ripped open?

You should think before you speak. It isn't always just right and wrong. Sometimes it's more like the lesser of two evils.

Physically abusive parents can still get visitation. Granted it may have to be supervised, but they can. So that's not really saving your child from anything.
