ridiculous. i'm getting so upset over the fact that we have different opinions on whos last name she should have.

he thinks even though she's his daughter by blood, since we're not married they aren't family and she has to have my last name.

on the other hand, i feel really strongly that she should have his last name because he's her father. it's just what's been done in my family, the child takes the fathers last name. but he seems to think this only happens in married couples.


we've also kept him a secret from a lot of people so it doesn't get back to his family..he really doesn't want them to know even though i wish they could. so i would be keeping her from them, and he says it wouldn't make sense for her to have their last name. but this is all on his part.

i keep saying he's stubborn, and then he says i don't know what stubborn means. i'm pretty sure i do... 


anyways, we've been fighting about it for awhile now.
what did everyone else do?

his family doesn't know you're pregnant? That's fucked up.....

Most people I know give the baby BD's last name...but in a few instances, the father wasn't comfortable with it.

I was given my mom's last name, and boy, am I glad she did!

Why won't he tell his fam? That is crazy. And they aren't family????WTF is wrong w/ this dude. You can always take him to court and have them assign his last name to her.

Why won't he tell his family? It sounds like he's ashamed and that is never a good thing. I was due in Jan and my ex didn't tell his family until Thanksgiving.. That really sucked..... In the end my son got MY last name because his father pretty much has nothing to do with him.

we aren't together. we've had a lot of issues with the pregnancy and the fact that he had a son that got put up for adoption last minute. i don't know, he hates talking about it. and doesn't want anyone to know that he's the father. but i think for my daughters sake he should try and be in her life. i don't know if he will or not. but in my family..we give the kids the dads last name.
i've just never had to deal with a situation like this i guess?
