I'm going to try and make this as short as possible.

I work with this girl who talks to a select few people, 2 to be exact.
She's never made ANY effort to talk to any of our co-workers and even said when she first started working here 'I'm not here to make friends.'
She never brings food, helps out, or does anything for holiday partys or donates to our work fund.
Never talks to anyone and is very unapproachable.

On friday one of my co-workers and I were walking behind her and I called her name and said " So and So your legs are SOOO tiny! You're so skinny! Ugh I'm jealous!" (my way of giving a compliment and trying to break the ice so MAYBE we could have a semi-normal working relationship) She made an annoying 'pfft' sound and continued walking. Didn't even turn around.

So I come to work and my boss pulls me into a room and says "I have to do a mediation between you and so and so" and I was like "huh? for what?" She goes "Apparently the comment you made to her on friday was rude."

So we get in the room and this bitch comes in and starts attacking me"On friday you told me I was tiny and that was SO rude and inappropriate. Would you call someone fat?? We're not friends and you don't say that to someone."
So I go "Uhm I gave you a compliment? I'm sorry if you took it that way but that really wasn't my intention at all."

And she continued to argue with me saying that it was "my intention to be mean' and I was like "woah woah woah you aren't gunna tell ME what MY intention was. NO WAY. " and it went on until my boss stopped it.

Anyways.

Would you be offended if someone said you were skinny and they were jealous?

She has made it clear she is there to work, not socialize, so leave her alone.

i personally wouldnt enjoy hearing it because i lost 2 friends to severe eating disorders... but i wouldnt be offended because i know that you wouldnt know this fact if you didnt know me so you obviously wouldnt mean anything mean by it.

I get offended because I tell them "thank you, I just wish I were more toned" and they usually say something like "mom's are allowed to be flabby" or "why? you have kid already."   but I don't get offended when they say they are jealous I'm smaller than them.

I wouldnt be offended, but I wouldnt call someone skinny cuz I find it to be as inapporpriate as calling some one fat. It's better to say "You look amazing!"

No, I didn't. I just said that she has made it clear she doesn't want to socialize, you went out of your way force her into a situation she was uncomfortable with...whether intentionally or not.

I can totally understand that. I'd be floored if you told me that, but also wonder what you're smoking because I think I look like crap. My tummy is the same size now that it was at 6 months with my son (I was a late popper, lol)
