Just wondering

posted 16th Nov
About breastfeeding..I have yet to decide
Why do it?
Why do it so long ive heard them going up to 2 years old
Is it really that much more healthy then formula
Is it a pain to have to do it all the time??

And formula feeding
What do you have to say about it?
Good/Bad??

Tanks

Whaaaa?

I breastfeed because it's the best thing for my baby. It's free, always the right temperature, and I can do it anywhere.

I'm only going for a year.

Its your OWN PERSONAL decision. Dont let anybody talk you either way.

There are pros & cons about both.
I formula feed. Wish I could've breast fed, but I'm fine with what I do.

Only I breastfed my last for 17 months because he has problems growing and gaining weight. I am going for at least a year with this baby, possibly 18 months.

I breastfed up to two months with both of my babies. It is easier, its best, its more convenient, no bottles to wash, builds their immune systems... the list goes on and on. The only reason I stopped with my son was a supply issue. I stopped with my daughter, because of personal reasons associated with my post partum depression.

Formula is fine. My kids are healthy, smart, thriving children.

I BF until I dried up for no reason( I tried EVERYTHING including pills). Let me say, BF is a hell of a lot easier then washing stupid bottles all the time.

Breast milk is amazing and no formula will ever compare to it. However if you can't because work or your breast just don't produce then formula is a good option. If you can breast feed then do it!

brest milk is really healther than formula, babys who are brest fed have higher imunsystems and are less likely to be obease later in life its good for there eayes and brain

its good for mommy helps get rid of calleries for mommy cuts your chances oif getting breast canser in half.

it can be a pain but no diferent than getting up and makeing a bottle...gona feed baby one way or another

and if daddy wanting to feed baby you can pump and put it in a bottle if you want a nap

breast feeding is really the best for baby

im takeing the lingth one step at atime right now im saying till six months but if we are stiull going strong breast feeding then we will continue till a year but then we are going to a sippy

Well, it's certainly your choice, but I know that unless something goes wrong and I can't, I'm going to be breastfeeding for at least the first year. It was never even a question for me, I've always just thought it was an obvious thing to do, and I didn't learn otherwise until I got pregnant.

Breastmilk will give your baby immunity which formula doesn't - which is my main reason. Frankly, it's just why you have boobs to begin with. It's meant for babies. Not to mention it's cheaper and it's a great bonding experience.

Well I choose to do it b/c
1.its healthy for the baby!!
2.alot cheaper than formula
3.have a speacial bond with your baby
4.and it helps you loose wieght fast!   (thats a plus for mommys that are worriede about wieght)
And I heard its alot less painful than not breast feeding and letting your boobs swell up (mom told me that   )

and if thats what you need to do then do it i mean some brest milk is better than no brest milk
with my daughter she was so under weight that my dr insisted we supliment formula and what we would do is let her nurse as long as she would and then give her formula

i was dead set on breastfeeding and i generally get irritated when i hear about other moms not doing it simply because they "aren't comfortable with it".. but that's just me, i mean, to each his (her) own.
and i personally didn't even really enjoy the experience, to be honest. i was always uncomfortable and it seemed to just isolate me from everyone else, but i did it anyway because it was the healthiest thing for my little boy. and then when i went back to school, i dried up and now he's a healthy chubber on enfamil   sometimes i'm kind of disappointed with myself for not pumping for him, and sometimes i miss the bonding, but i really i didn't like breastfeeding in and of itself.
but with my next kid, you can bet i will do it again

this probably doesn't mean much, but i have a 3 year old sister who is EXTREMELY smart and healthy, and she was never breastfed.

I wasn't sure at first if i wanted to breastfeed or not so i tried it. I love breastfeeding. You and your child develop such a close bond. I believe it is healthier for the baby but im sure formula is good too. I plan to do it until my son is a year. I think it is so much easier then formula.
