I was gonna make a separate post but i saw this and maybe you all can answer it!
(I would hate to clog the threads with more pt questions!)

My daughter Averi will be 2 1/2 next month.
She will go (ask to go) pee-pee on the potty at night before tubby or at least try, with a success so far of like 90% of the time going. She knows to push and even pooped on the potty once! She also seemingly knows how to hold it in (as by her night time diaper).
She also started to ask to go potty first thing in the morning when she wakes up. This is like 40% of time time though but has picked up a lot lately.
But that's it.
You can ask her all day if she has to go. And she'll tell you no every time.
Now which method should i go about nudging it so it she does it during the day???
~Panties only. (Messy but i see its used alot. She has panties waiting for this.)
~Taking her every certain amount of time to the potty. (My SO thought on it)

Any thoughts, comments or advise?

My vote is both!

Of course, if she starts to pitch a fit/scream/fight when you take her every so often during the day, then ease up on that and go panties only.

However, a know a lot of kids don't go during the day b/c they are too busy/distracted -- and will say no even when they need to go b/c they don't want to stop whatever it is they're doing.

G'luck!!

You are very right. Its like she can't be bothered! lol
That's why i need to nudge her. We're so close!!!
What do you think is a good time to start the potty breaks?
Like every hour? Every 30 min?

I'd say start out with every hour. Once you get to know her body more (I guess, PT'ing yourself to her body LOL) then you can stretch it to ever 2 hrs+.

But hopefully the combo of panties & taking her every so often gets her motivated enough to do this on her own within a few months. My 3 yr old niece still needs to be asked every few hours if she has to go.

Thank you thank you THANK YOU!

I'll start thistomorrow.
The funny thing is she will only go in the big potty and refuses to use her little potty. So mommy is gonna get a workout going up and down the steps too. lol.

My child is soooo condescending.

She took her pullups off, so I ask her "Mamas, do you have to go potty?" and she says in the most condescending way, while rolling her eyes, "No0o0o0o0...." and cocks her head to the side.

So I ask her, "Will you tell me if you do?" and in the same voice, "Yeessssssss...." and rolls her eyes.

I wouldn't ask if she went back to doing it herself. My turn to eye roll.

It's an E-Book I got online for $24..she reccommends going HARDCORE.
Straight to underwear. No Pull-Ups. We've had zero luck with the Pull-Ups anyway. I just wonder if it worked for anyone.

Im going to try it. Just taking her to pick out some underwear that she likes like another mama suggested on here and trying to go full on potty EXCEPT at night, we need pullups. lol

She reccommends not using them at night, either. She advises a ceramonial procedure and letting the child throw his or her diapers away. She said it's hard but it works

we've not tried that -- my LO is just 21 months and can't pull his own pants up or down really.

But when he meets all the physical, behavioral, and emotional criteria for PT'ing, I'm so gonna do something like that on a long weekend!

I'm thinking he'll get training pants for his 2nd b-day. I can't imagine that training pants are too far diff from regular underwear.

we are back from our trip as of yesterday and we are now going to go back to potty training. Caleb is READY. This morning after breakfast he went to the bathroom and I asked if he had to go pee pee and he shook his head yes. He went 10 min later

We had a super lazy day today though, so I didn't give him much opportunity to go on the potty. But he ended up peeing twice and pooping twice in the potty and having only 1 accident.
