So, you've opted to pee while sitting as opposed to standing?

Thank you.

Since hers didn't have a flusher, he'd get up periodically to flush the big potty.

OH! And just this morning he went into the bathroom, turned around (back facing potty), backed up to it, and said "pee pee, pee pee." So I put him on it, walked out to turn the stat up a degree, I walk back in and b/c the poor guy's lil penis is so small it sticks straight out as opposed to pointing down and he ended up peeing all over his clothes! Poor baby. But he still got congratulated of course.

having a hell of a time pting my lil man. hes 3 going on 4 in march. and its getting to a point where im embarrased hes still in pull ups bc people have made comments like "oh hes STILL in diapers!" it sucks he poops in the potty like the best of em but really struggling with the peeing part he will go sometimes but still is wet. ive tried positive reinforcement, treats. and it worked with the pooping just not the peeing help!

Have you ruled out any medical concerns? (physical, mental, emotional, etc...)

He's 25 months---so 2
And yes, i think peeing will be easier sitting for now...once he has it down he can play the cheerio game, but i just want him to start peeing in the toilet...i've read that its easier to do this since they can't really control their muscles for peeing and pooping quite yet so i would much rather him not have #2 while he's trying to do #1 lol

I don't know if this question was answered or not, but how do you know when your child is ready to start potty training?

My daughter is almost 20 months and I don't believe she is showing any signs towards wanting to potty train.

Any tips on how to start them out? What to look for? Any advice would be wonderful.

In the OP are a couple of online checklists for readiness.

Pretty much -- interest? ability to take off own pants? waking from naps dry? going hrs during the day dry? etc etc.

So Ellie follows me into the bathroom everytime I go (which is alot since Im 37 weeks preg.. lol) She sits on her potty (with cloths on) I give her a tiny peice of TP and she acts like she wipes.. lol Its to cute.. Then when I get up to flush she tosses her tp in the big toilet and wants to close the lid.. I cant wait to be able to really work with her on PTing.. Sometime between Spring and Summer we will get more serious about it. .

I haven't been on here for a LONG time, but I thought you ladies could help me with potty training. For a couple days he would tell me when he had to pee & every pee some of the pee he would go on the potty, there was a little in the diaper too, but then it seems like he is bored with it and goes in the diaper. He hasn't pooped in the potty yet. Im not pushing him. But id like to know if this is normal? he will be 2 in 3 weeks.

Sounds normal. He was interested now hes not. He also has all those nice shiny new toys for christmas to play with.

When he seems interested again he will probably be ready for you to really train him.
