Hey ladies!! So, my girls are doing great going potty when they need to! I am so excited for them to have made this much progress; however, they are still not telling me they need to go. SOMETIMES one of them will say she needs to go, most of the time they will just go on their own. I wanted to know if anyone has any tips for getting them to tell you they need to go??
I have started taking them outside to play in the yard every day possible. I am hoping this will help since they obviously don't NEED to tell me when we are inside (they just go). When they are outside, I am hoping it will encourage them to say they need to go so they don't have an accident.
I am also constantly asking if they need to go pee, but they always say "no".

Okay...maybe I just need to keep with it. Right after I posted this both of my girls came and told me "I need to pee pee" before they went to the potty. I guess time will just make them get better about it!!

My son is 34 months and having a hard time with getting him interested in the potty chairchair.
We,ve had it since before he was 12 months; and at about 18 months he was super interested in it and ask to go potty. his first time on it he went pooped and peed and was very excited about it. since then, he's only been interested in going pee.
I was letting him lead with it because whenever I'd ask he'd flip out and cry and not want to go. he hates having dirty diapers (pee or poo) and asks me to change him constantly. A friend suggested making him clean himself or stay in the dirty diaper; he just takes off the diaper (poo and all) and runs around naked. we got rid of the diapers at one point ad just had him in underwear; it worked for pee, but he would freak out about pooping and scream for a diaper...he ended up constipated. he's pediatrician said to go back to diapers for a while, so we have.
We are currently back to him sometimes being interested and wanting to go pee and sometimes wear underwear.
I've tried making it fun (cheerios as bad guys) as he thinks he's spiderman, but he wasn't too keen to that idea.
I know he'll get it eventually, but are there any suggestions? am doing something wrong? lol

Have you tried explaining to him that he's a big boy and big boys use the potty and have him throw the diapers away himself?

i have told him that, and before his constipation episode, i did have him toss them. right now, i am waiting for him to come around again.

I say it's probably too early. Especially bc boys are typically older than girls when they're ready. If you think he is ready you can try it but don't push it if he's not bc you'll make it harder on yourself. Trying to potty train a kid before they're ready makes the process harder and longer and can make them more defiant about it

I started taking him to toilet when ever i change for him, and ask him if he want to go, He was so excited about it!!
Thank you (f) .

Alyssa just started showing an interest in the potty...she will take off her diaper and say pee pee and sit on the potty but hasn't pee peed on it yet.
I've been keeping up with it & so has her daycare but she just sits on it...
( she's going to be 3 in September )
is there anything I can try to make her go pee pee on the potty instead of just sitting on it ?

It's not bad persay but it makes it a harder and longer process than if you wait until they are ready to start. They've done studies on it and that's what the research shows

Take her with you and show her that you per in it. Or get one of those peeing baby dolls and show her the baby pees in the potty. Other than that just keep taking her. Eventually she'll pee in the potty. Then make a HUGE deal out of it when she does.

Run the sink. Tell her to use her stomach muscles & push it out. Make a sssssss sound as she sits there. Use a bottle & spray her with warm water, think about how you did it after giving birth.
