He is wrong. I really can't care any less if he's a doc. Children should start when they are ready whether it means 1, 2, 3, or later. Period.

Wow! That's a broad generalization! Every kid is different...my oldest started asking to use the potty at 21 months and was fully day/night trained the week after he turned 2. This was with very little pushing from us...we simply followed his lead. My 2nd will be 2 in 2 weeks and shows zero interest. Won't even attempting to pt until after this baby is here in July, then we will see where he is at.

Anyone have any tips on how to handle long car trips with a day trained 3yr old? In a few weeks, we'll be traveling from TX to IN and no guarantee we'll be near a bathroom when he says he needs to go.

Quoting I ♥ my girls!:" take his potty with you"

He uses a regular toilet. I've never used a portable potty, just a seat that fits on the toilet, but now he pees standing up and doesn't need his seeat when he poops.

pull ups

we drove 10.5 hrs to Disney for LO's 3rd b-day. We timed it so by nap time we were finishing up lunch, did the pee thing, and put him in a pull up instead of back into his undies. We explained it was almost nap time but we still had to be the car, so the pull-up was just in case he couldn't wake up fast enough.

I just took my son on a 6 hour car trip to visit my dad. He will be 3 on Friday, and has been day trained for 9 months. I didn't take anything with me and just made sure to make potty stops. It was good for letting him stretch his legs too. And we stopped for lunch half way through and I let him run around. He lets me know every time he needs to go. And if I had to, I'd let him pee in a field or something lol. Didn't have to this trip, though.   GL!

My son will be 4 in july and he wants absolutly NOTHING to do with the potty!!! He has isues with pooping and is on miralax 2-3 times a day. he has a potty seat and a stool and he will pretend he is using the potty every once in a great while. I have bought things for him to aim at in the toilet, bribbed him with toys and candy and he just doesnt care at all. When we put him in pull-up he cried and cried for diapers but i will not put him back in diapers! he will not wear big boy underwear and everytime i put them on him he flips out and takes them off. I am LOST!!! i dont know what to do and honestly i cant afford two kids in diapers!!! i have tried the 3-day potty training i have got books i have rented DVDs... NOTHING is working. feel free to send me a PM with helpful hints

My daughter will not poop on the potty. She'll pee any time. She poops during nap or quiet time or if we can't hear her she's run off to do it. She plays with it and thinks it's hilarious. It takes every thing in my body not to get ticked. I've tried so many things. Please anyone share advice to this lost mom. TIA
