Thank you... I have now pulled her out of the daycare because of a couple of issues and shes almost completely day trained! We've bin in underwearfor 4 hrs so far, for nap were guna put a pull up on) then go back to undies when she gets up! Sooo excited.
They werent giving her an option at all, if she couldn't hold it til it was convenient for them (one of their "alotted times"), theyd stick her in a diaper.

Hi all!   My son just turned 2 and I've decided to give the 3 day potty training a try. I plan to start the first of May. He is familiar with the potty chair and seems to somewhat grasp the concept. However, today I discovered he wants nothing to do with pooping in it. I noticed he was scouting out a place to poop so I hurried to put him on the chair. Boy, was that a mistake! He flipped out and insisted on pooping in his diaper. Any ideas to help get him over that fear before we start the 3 day training?

One more question.....He never wakes up from a nap dry, doesn't seem to care if he's in a dirty/wet diaper, and other than all the cool characters on his underwear, he didn't care one way or the other to wear them. Those are the only things on the check list that he's lacking. Do you think those are big factors in being ready?

I think the not caring if he's wet/dirty is a biggie.

As for the poop and flipping out thing...I'm not sure. My LO didn't have that hurdle. Maybe try "Everybody Poops"? Or, maybe he doesn't like the position the potty puts him in to poo. My LO had to use assistance of a warm bath for what felt like for evaaah.

Whenever she says she has to go, put her on the potty while at the same time explaining how happy you are she's doing well BUUUUT, the potty for pooping and peeing. If you don't really have to go, that's okay, but we cannot play on the potty.

And, remember, if you are getting angry and she's not following thru, then it might just not be "the time."

we had much better success with nakedness, second best success with just regular ole undies, and equally disappointing success with Gerber training pants and pull ups.

...each kid is different, so it's hard to say. Pull ups are transitional diapers.

she likes the pull ups due to the princesses on them doesn't notice if she is wet tho. We will try the nakedness again!! Is there any good books that I should look at?!?

Take your pick from post #1   There's adult books and kiddo books.

And you can always get her regular undies with princesses on them -- the drippy wet from soiled undies helps training far more than soaked up soil from a pull up.
