GO NAVY!! haha my husband isn't on a ship either. He is a Seabee which means he gets deployed to build Army and Marine bases.
Your SO should just look into both and see which suits him the best.

Yeah its called the Seaman to Admiral program my husband was recomended for it but he decided he doesn't want to stay in because he could make way more doing his job in the civilian world

My husband called it something else, ha He will prob do it after deployment!

mine too. he is applying for it during the deployment. july is the last month to put packets in, and they usually give the decision by November

Yeah i think they referred my husband to it.. im not sure. Its so crazy here i hear something new everyday, i hate it.

Yeah its a really big deal to be recomended for it the one my husband was recomended for the seaman to admiral is one of the most prestige ones. I really wish hed taken it but hes gonna get out after his contract is up

Yea chris's higher ups keep urging him towards the program, and he wasn't sure about it so he didn't complete his packet this year. But finally decided he wants to next year. I told him no matter what, its his decision, ill love him no matter what he is or does!
