Mom's with 2 babies!

posted 15th Nov
How long did you wait after the first to have your 2nd? I'm 6 months PP, and we're going to try for our 2nd. I just want to know how hard it was (or easy hehe) to have a newborn with a child already! Connor will be 15 months old and I haven't a clue to how he will take it. My sister's boys are 11 months apart and she loves it, because when she potty trained the 1st, the second learned right along with! When they were younger though she had it pretty rough, but she and I are so completely different I know we're going to both handle it differently!

i got pregnant with #2 at 10 months pp so mine will be about 18.5-19 months apart. i have no idea how it's going to be with 2 kids, but i can give you insight on the pregnancy part. i found it hard because you have to still be as close to 100% on for your first even when you are so exhausted and nauseous. carrying a toddler with a big ol belly in the way can be pretty tricky and tiring. as can running after one   but like everything in life, you learn to juggle it all and find out what works for you. i had a hard time backing off and letting everyone else step in and help take care of my daughter when i wasn't feeling up to it. luckily she has always been a pretty independent baby and didn't mind me backing off a bit. she understands there is a baby in mommy's tummy and everything. i was surprised she caught on so well. she calls the baby "sassy" or "sissy/shissy" and pets my belly or gives her kisses. she plays with her baby dolls and takes care of them too. i never imagined waiting too long before having my 2nd. my sister and i are 4 years apart, my brother and i are 13 years apart, and hubby and his brother are 9 years apart. we both felt like we never had a good connection with our siblings cause of the age differences, so it was important to us that they be no more than 2 years apart. after this baby there will be a good 4-5 year break for us though

My girls are 15 months apart and its really not that hard for me. Really it was much more difficult going from zero to one then from one to two. The pregnancy with the second was way more tiring. My daughter was walking by 9 months so through the whole pregnancy I was chasing her plus I was pregnant through the summer and it was horribly hot! My daughter would say baby and kiss my tummy. If I asked her to talk to the baby she would put her mouth on my tummy and shout into it. My oldest loves her lil sister so much though and is such a great lil helper. My husband has been a great help to me specially since I had to recover from a csection. I have two very easy going girls. I'm sure I wouldn't be so happy with two kids so close together if they were colicly or threw alot oftantrums. We plan on starting to ttc for our third final kid when our second is 6 months old so that they all are spaced apart the same. If you think finacially and mentally you can handle kids so close together then I say go for it. Good luck.

Well I have 3 altogether but the youngest 2 are 14 months apart. It sucked in the beginning and it sucks sometimes now but it's getting easier.

What sucked about it? Were you able to get them all on the same or similar schedule?

Thanks for all your replies momma's Iappreciate it!
The main reason we want our 2nd now, is with me being at a higher risk for pre-e and hellps syndrome I don't want a child age 2+ and be stuck on bedrest or having to take it easier! My sis's kids at 15 months were so so wonderful and sweet, so im praying Connor will be as well!

No, they all nap at different times. When one isn't whining or crying the other is or they decide to cry at the same time. They all want my attention and I just can't divide myself that many different ways. Grocery shopping is pretty much impossible without help. It takes me forever to get anywhere. My trash can is always overflowing with diapers, I change about 2 million a day. The cost of diapers and wipes is through the roof. Thankfully my son will walk now so I can carry the baby and hold his hand but he's in his independent phase and wants to run. If I don't let go of his hand he goes "floppy legs" on me and I either have to pick him up and carry him or drag by his arm, LOL. I mean don't get me wrong I love my babies but it's a LOT more work then just one baby. I wish they were spaced out more. My oldest was 3 1/2 when my middle child was born and it was a breeze.

My son, the middle child, was pissed when the baby was born. He wouldn't hug me for a month.
