sick baby not sleeping......help!

My 8 month old has a bit of a runny nose. I put him in bed at 10 pm last night and then he woke up at 1:30 am. He was just in his room making noises and then he started screaming, so I made him a bottle and changed his diaper. I rocked him, for a little while. I kept trying to put him back in his crib and he would just scream, so I took him to my bed and snuggled with him. He finally fell asleep and I put him back in his crib. Well he woke up and started screaming again. I took him back to my bed again and snuggled with him until he was asleep and put him back in his crib and this time he finally stayed asleep. That was at 4 am. Then he woke back up at 7 am. I fed and changed him. Then he slept until 9 am. I am so tired. I feel like I have a newborn all over again.

What can I do to help him sleep? Also what can I do for his runny nose?
Alll I've been giving him is tyenol.
Also I have a sore throat, so I'm sure he does too..........

If this happens again tonight I will just have him sleep in bed with me. I am so exhuasted.

You can use a cool mist humidifier in his room at night and will help with the runny nose.

It's ok. My daughter will be nine months old tomorrow and she woke up six times last night. SIX TIMES. Granted, she is teething now, but she has alllways woke up anywhere between 3-5 times a night on a regular basis. She is WORSE now than she was as a newborn.

oh great...................

I hope that doesn't happen to me!!!!!!!
When my son was 2 months old he would sleep 12 hours a night.
I miss that............
I think I migth start co-sleeping even though I'm totally not comfortable with it.

Bella slept through the night beautifully--like clockwork--from 2-4 months old. Then, I remember the exact night because of the fireworks, on July 4 she came down with a wicked cold, fever and all and was up literally alllll night. I couldn't put her down or move her or nothing. We took her to the ER the very next morning at seven.

Anyhoo, since then, she never slept through the night again.
It's sad.

You can use saline drops for the runny nose.
