He stays on his side on his own okay. I just want something to trick him to think that it is me.
What I've noticed is that when he is next to me, he doesn't move an inch while asleep, except his hands sometimes. He moves fast now though when he wakes up, and that is what makes me nervous co-sleeping. When he falls asleep on our bed nursing, and I let him stay there, he rolls over and stuff. (I'm watching him, just not in bed with him) So I would imagine that he would roll in his sleep while in the crib. I'm going to try without pillows or anything, and see if he'll do it. I know it could take weeks/months...

I wouldn't worry about blankets or pillows anymore. I mean it's your kid, you judge. But I think he should be able to sleep with stuff. Try when he's awake putting a blanket on his face, if he can get it off with little struggle I'm sure he'll be fine. It's just young babies don't yet have the ability. it's really bad but when Blaze was only a couple Weeks in my sleep I set my boob on his face. He woke me up! He kicked and hit until I got off.

Okay thanks! I'll experiment.

Hello I have some questions & I wanted to ask them in here bc I didn't want nasty answers/comments from pro CIO people if I posted it. I am Non-CIO, Co-Sleeping, Extended Breast Feeding Etc. My question is about my 9.5 month old. I wonder if he is high needs and/or has separation anxiety. He needs to be with me at all times or he screams hysterically. As soon as I pick him up & hold him he stops. This has been pretty much since birth & has been worse lately. I am exhausted. He is at least 25 lbs so carrying that around all day is hurting my back & wearing me out. People make their comments like he just does it bc he's got me wrapped around his finger & knows it & just does it bc he's spoiled, but I don't really feel that way. I really think he needs me. Lately I have been even more exhausted bc my 2.5 year old is potty training & goes every 5-10 minutes which is great, but again exhausting especially when my 9.5 month old screams everytime I put him down. Sorry if I'm rambling. I just need some info & advice. He also wakes up all night long to nurse. Usually ends up on the boob snuggled up to me all night long then wakes up freaking out when he can't get the boob & I give it to him & he eventually goes back to sleep.

Around this time Separation Anxiety can start. My 8.5 month old is the same way, and has been since birth. the only thing that has changed is she is nursing more at night now (yeah, amazing huh lol) anyway, what has helped me is: THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!!!!! repeat every 5 minutes LOL. Also, have you thought about getting a wrap or carrier, a woven wrap can be kind of pricey ($80-$140) but you can wrap her on your back and still be available for your older child! Another thing that helps me: I only complain to like minded people. I do not mention how 'needy' my daughter is to people who practice CIO. Remember, her dependence now is setting her up for healthy independence in the future!

Thank You. Yea i keep telling myself that this will pass, but it hasn't I know it will eventually. My son has been like this since birth also, but now he is deff being more needy & eating a lot more at night. I don't say anything to anyone really except my husband, but he understands that he does need me & doesn't say anything negative about it. He just usuallyf
tries to help me out with our older son when he is home. People just see it in action & say he is spoiled. They always see ne holding him or picking him up when he cries. I'm like he just needs me. I don't think babies can be spoiled & actually realize it. I want to get a wrap or carrier, but need one that can support his weight & that is comfortable. I also don't want to spend a crap load of money on one either. Any suggestions? Idk what to get.

I have a Vatanai & a Girasol woven. paid about $140 each. one I got with tax money, one was a gift. A BBSLEN is around $80 and totally toddler worthy! I carry my 21 lb 8 month old comfortably in my wovens and they will hold up until I can no longer carry her lol. They have certain carries that are more supportive try googling 'double hammock back carry'

He sounds like he might be a bit high needs, like border line. How was he as a newb?
My 11 mo dd has been borderline high needs since day one. Thankfully since she's become some what mobile she doesn't want to be held 24/7. So
it does get better but it takes some time. Do you wear him? Or do you ahve a walker or exersaucer? My dd doesn't like being worn, but she'll play in her walker for 10 to 15 minutes which gives my arms a break.

He has always been like this since birth. My pediatrician pretty much told me to put ear plugs in & let him scream. I could not believe that. She was my pedi since I was born & my brothers. I would never do that to him. I want a new pedi. His last checkup I just told her he was fine & doing better sleeping through the night bc I didnt want to hear her crap about letting him CIO. He had acid reflux starting around 2 months & had a bunch of X-rays & a barium swallow done, but now is better & he is on solids & doing great with that. He was diagnosed with asthma in March & needs Nebulizer treatments once a day to try to keep his lungs clear. He had 3 upper respiratory infections from January-March. An 2 ear infections & Bronchialitus. He got his 1st two teeth in about a month ago. He rarely let's me put him down without screaming. He was doing a little better, but now it has gotten worse. He has an exersaucer, a jumper & a walker & a bunch of toys. He just likes to be with me at all times. I don't wear him. I just carrying him around with me everywhere on my hip & the bigger he gets the more exhausted & in pain I am. He is a very big chunky boy. I guess I just really need to invest in some sort of thing so I can wear him. Will it help out with the body pain & exhaustion i'm having or add more bc your adding more weight? I know it will probably be worth it either way bc I will have my hands/arms back.

It wil help with back pain!!! when holding in your arms, you shift in order to compensate! A carrier will help evenly distribute the weight!

That would be great to evenly distribut the weight. I looked up the double hammock baby carry & it looks really cool. I deff want a wrap.

It can be oveewhelming or intimidating at first, but once I got the hang of it, I <3 my wraps! Plus, if it starts to get uncomfortable, you can just wrap it a different way & you're good to go for awhile longer!

Yes I was like wow that is cool, but was wondering if I'd be able to figure it out. I watched a YouTube video on it though so maybe if I watched it a couple times more I could figure it out. My LO sweats a lot. How can I carry him like that without him getting overheated...especially outside on a hot day? What kind of wrap/material stays cool & breathes?
