Quoting "The Boob" [HM] [EBFB]:“ But they aren't crying because they wish desperately that you'd let them scream themselves exhausted and pass out. They cry because they are tired and need mother's help to fall asleep.”

You are assuming that I let her scream until she's exhausted. I don't. Phoebe started self-soothing while we were rocking, singing etc her to get her to sleep. We started putting her in her crib drowsy but awake and she would mildly fuss and get herself to sleep (I swear she's the easiest kid!). Every once in a while she will cry but its only for a couple of minutes before she starts soothing herself. I wouldn't let her cry herself to the point of exhaustion. But then, I don't consider what I do with her "CIO".

I don't think that fussing is quite the same as CIO. I don't do it because it would never work with my LO without an emotional meltdown first. Sometimes when she is almost asleep I lay her in her crib and stand there with her, pat her back/belly or whatever until she closes her eyes, but she never fusses or cries.

But yeah I definitely don't consider a couple minutes of fussing before falling asleep CIO, it's just not anything that I do.

I just don't understand why you would let your child cry so hard and so long that he puked, there is just no way to justify that being right! Sorry to say this hun but when you become a mom you give up your great sleeping habits and its not fair to your child to let them cry just because you need to sleep, that baby needs sleep way more than you do, he is a growin boy! Maybe you should have thought twice about becoming a parent if you can't handle the restless nights.
