We made it through surgery

Everything went really good My computer crashed a few weeks ago and that's where I went. Lol.

Handing my baby over to the nurses for him to go into the OR was the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life. Seeing him after with a bandage over his head and all these IV is hard but nothing is as hard as handing over your child.


I still haven't been able to hold him which makes me super sad.  


I honestly though I did a lot better then I thought I would. I started to cry when I saw him in the NICU and then my hubby started to cry which just made me cry even more but we're doing very good. He's still asleep and I'm just sitting here watching him, I just want to hold him!

I didn't know your situation, so I read your profile. Your little one is so adorable, and you will all be in my thoughts and prayers. I couldn't imagine going through what you are going through. Its great that his first surgery went well!

I'm glad to hear you lil one is doing well and that your holding up as well as you can for him. I was not sure what the surgery was for but got that info from you profile - he's a beautiful baby boy.

That is the worse thing EVER. I would rather put my hand in a blender and turn it on.

I know, I can't believe how different he looks. It's crazy to realize how much he looks like me.

We will be here about five days and they are hoping to get him out of the PICU tomorrow. So hopefully tomorrow, he has three different IVs so that's why they don't really want me to hold him right now.

Ugh you are right! My son had surgery at 6 months old and the look on his face as the nurse carried him down that loooong hallway and him watching me over her shoulder will forever be etched in my mind. I physically ached to reach out and take him back....now I am crying again just thinking about it.
Glad your lo came through well and I am hoping the recovery is quick and you get to hold him soon!

I'm so sorry... Is he comfortable? He's nursing right, can you nurse him without holding him, or are they giving you a hospital grade pump?

He's been sleeping the whole time pretty much. They are giving him morphine so he's pretty out of it. They gave me a pump to use too.
