Does anyone know the difference between the Bumbleride Rocket and Indie? Is it just size?

I thought they just changed the name.... maybe not though.

Hi,
While the Indie and Rocket look very similar in photos, the Indie is actually an entirely new stroller. The Rocket has been discontinued at this point.
Bumbleride has shaved off a few pounds and reduced the wheelbase (i.e., length between front and back wheels) by three inches. The width is the same, the height is approximately one inch less.
These changes make the Indie the lightest all-terrain stroller available right now, at only 20 pounds. With slightly slimmer 12" pneumatic (air filled) tires, it handles great, particularly with the shorter wheelbase.
And, the Indie has the same very nice fabric, infant seat adapter bar, color matching footmuff, and full recline.
Finally, the Indie has a sturdy welded aluminum frame, while the Rocket used screws and rivets on its aluminum frame.
Brand new stroller, but certainly looks very close to its discontinued predecessor!

Hope that helps!

I am considering the Bumbleride Indie... I love what I've seen of it. Does anyone know if it has a front break? I will be taking this stroller down a 10% grade hill and I believe that a break is a must-have. If not, do you have other suggestions?

Hi,
There is no swivel-wheel all-terrain stroller that has a front brake. And the rear brakes on strollers are to lock the wheels, not slow them, so that doesn't help you.
So, that leaves you with a couple options.
One option is to get a very safe jogging stroller that comes with a front brake (but the front wheel doesn't steer). The Kelty Speedster Deluxe was the only jogging stroller tested by Consumer Reports that got "Excellent" for safety.
More details on that stroller are at http://www.peppyparents.com/servlet/the-10/Kelty-Speedster-Deluxe-Jogging/Detail
The other option is to get a good safety tether. One end ties to your stroller handle, and the other end secures around your wrist. This at least will help prevent any run-away stroller accidents.
Many jogging strollers come with a safety tether, but there are also tethers you can buy separately.
Hope that helps!
