SIDS linked with sweaty feet?

posted 10th Nov
I really need more opinions on this from real people...

I just read on some website about sweaty feet in young infants, linked with SIDS. My son has really sweaty feet and has been acting a lot out of the ordinary lately and its really scaring the fuck out of me.

Theres more info than i wrote but i wanted some more opinions because im freaking out.

My son's sweaty all over and he's been just fine. Heck we even cosleep and he's 15 months now, no SIDS.

That seems really silly to me. Is it a good source you herd this from?

I think the correlation they're getting between sweating and there being a problem is probably the fact that babies can't control their body temperature. That's another reason I wound up cosleeping because Dominic was always hot 100-101 and he could use my body temperature to regulate himself at night.

Ehhhh liz drools a pool... They say keep a fan on low in the room and that helps with sids. I just tryed to keep her on her back till she was able to move around. I just didnt let her sleep with blanket till she was 18 mo.

Try not to worry mama, first of all, this is just someone's opinion based on something they have personally noticed within a small group of affected people. It is in no way an official finding.

It also says within that site " Sweating, in and of itself, is not a risk factor for SIDS and does not predict which baby will die from SIDS. "

They are saying that cold sweats/excessive clamminess could be a sign of a subtly defective nervous system, and that could be a possible link to SIDS (a defective nervous system) because the same brain function that controls breathing controls other things like sweating.

Just like sweating can be symptomatic of a heart attack, everyone that has a red face and is sweating is not having a heart attack. Sweating may be a linking factor to SIDS, but does not mean it will effect your child.
