Quoting Neil & Caleb's Mommy:“ Most of the "non-intervention" type things your looking for you'd be more likely to get by having a midwife. ... [snip!] ... Good luck hon   Know your options, know your body, and don't let people railroad you into something your not comfortable with.”
I'd be VERY interested in a home birth but since I'm seeing an OBGYN right now is it possible I still find a mid-wife to delivery in my home or do I HAVE TO see the mid-wife the full time to have her during birth?

they do allow ice chips but mostly all that helps with is so ur throat doesnt get dry i was in labor with my daughter for 16 hours and yes u do have to have an iv they can give u pain medicine through it keep u hydrated and also if u get induced they put the medicine through it so its good to have it in but after u have the baby and everything is fine they take it out

Quoting 16 weeks to go;;:“ I heard even having a natural birth- if you rip really bad, they make you have a cath? I'm for some reason terrified of something being shoved up my pee hole and would like some reassurance LOL”
During my no meds labor, my midwife told me to go pee, because she said having an empty bladder helps in pushing (I was pushing for a while). I tried to pee but I couldn't because the baby was blocking it, so they temporary inserted a catheter. It didn't hurt - I didn't feel it at all. I pushed with a C in me, and then they took it off. It really did help, so nothing to be affraid of in my opinion.
But no, it wasn't required in my hospital.

Most midwives will take transfers up until the last few weeks of your pregnancy - It NEVER hurts to call and ask.
