Can lube kill sperm?

I believe it can...

Certain lubes, esp those that contain spermacide, can harm sperm. There are sperm-friendly lubes out there though.

ETA: I was once told by one of my Drs that any commercial water-based lube has an adverse effect on the motility of sperm.

not unless it's spermicide lube. but only then!

I don't think it's just spermicide lubes... any lube that doesn't have the correct pH balance will kill the sperm... and that includes almost all store bought lubes.

A recent study published last week in the official journal of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, showed that Pre~Seed was the only vaginal dryness product tested that didn’t harm sperm motility as compared to Astroglide, Femglide (similar to Slippery Stuff), & Replens; or damage sperm DNA (genetic material) as compared to Femglide or KY. This data backs up over 10 other publications showing that standard lubricants and saliva, harm sperm, and should be avoided while TTC.

Exactly, so it's not just those with spermicide.
