What are my chances of VBAC if....

posted 7th Nov
The reason I had a C-section was because my baby would not descend but this was because his umbilcal cord was wrapped around his neck four times. I had no trouble dialating (I went from 1 to 4 in half an hour) and a very healthy pregnancy so no complications. My incision is from side to side. Not that I plan on getting pregnant anytime soon  . Just wanted to know if any ladies had a VBAC? Or know anything about this. Thanks!

Every pregnancy is different, and if your only problem was the cord then i don't see why you couldn't have a vbac.

My advice: don't let everyone else make the decision for you... if the doctors won't talk about it, tell them you'll find a new one.

My reason for a section with #1: They said he was in distress-- after 28 hours of labor-- and his heart rate was severely low. Then they said that they were having a hard time keeping the monitor on his heartrate and they thought the low one was mine; which if it was the rate was fine. I dilated to 8 cm when they decided I needed a section.

Doctors were pushing for a repeat section with this one because I have high blood pressure. Weeks ago, they said we could discuss VBAC if it returned to normal, or at least didn't increase. It hasn't increased, and I told them last week that I will be at least attempting to labor. But that if complications arise, I will do what it takes to have a healthy baby.

Yeah in a normal pregnancy the rupture rate is only 0.6% (I belive). And also giving yourself time to heal from your last birth, like someone mentioned. I don't know if I'll be having a vbac, my rupture rate is more towards 8% since I have an abnormal uterus.

When I was in my child birthing classes my RN told us that after ten years your uterus returns to be just like it was Pre preg. And my plans are to get preg with my second atleast 5 to 10 years from now. So ill hope for the best! And abnormal uterus?

Yeah I don't think you'de have much of a problem 5-10 years from now. and my uterus is split halfway down the middle, the uterus during pregnancy streches really thin which is why it's a higher risk.
