pell grant question

i asked earlier but didn't get many replies.

i got the first half of my pell grant in july. i just started my second semester. i was told i will get the other half when i started this semester. anyone know how long it usually takes?

i go to University of Phoenix.

With my school I had to wait a bit into the semester until I received anything. The grant was paid to my school and they had a set date that they would disperse the money to everyone. You can call and ask maybe.

I don't know for sure for the University of Phoenix...
but, I get mine about two weeks after the semester begins. =]

My husband has the normal Fall/Spring semester starts and he always get his second half right before it starts. Maybe they're going off the traditional Spring semester start in Jan to send the money?

I usually got mine about 4ish weeks into the semester, but it varies by school because the school has to say that you're still enrolled and the government has to verify it before they send cash.

The financial aid office at my school usually lets me sign up for classes before I actually get my grant, and then my classes get paid about 3 wks later.

It usually takes about 6 months. Are you doing the online program?

For me, I got my first in February when I started. My second in June. I just started my "second" year and just got my stuff about a week ago.

oh. i ask because i started in june and got the check at the end of july. it looks like the tuition money was applied to my account on the 6th (it shows on my online account).

I assume you're taking online classes; just wondering how you like it? I'm looking into getting an online business or Human Resources degree.... 

I also go to University of Phoeinx. I did not get the first half of my grant until the end of September. I was just finishing my second block of classes. I then got my second half about two weeks ago (about a month between the checks),

My fiancee is also enrolled. He gothis check in July, and has not gotten his second half yet.

mine wasn't like taht at all. i started in june and got my first half the end of july. i am waiting for the second half of the 2008/2009 year. the tuition has been applied to my account already.

i like it. it is convenient because i can do my classes anytime, but it is hard because you basically teach yourself all through reading the materials.
