So emotional!

posted 7th Nov
I went to my friend's daughter first birthday today and it hit me like a train. In a little more than 2 months, my daughter will be 1. ONE?! Where did the time go? When did she grow up? What happened to my tiny, vulnerable, sleep-all-the-time, cuddly, newborn? Where is she, and who replaced her with a walking, talking, almost 10 month old kid?

I want my baby back! I feel like I missed something, like there is no way in this world it's already been 10 months. I haven't left her side but for one day for surgery, and I STILL feel like I've missed out on her infancy. This all happened way too fast. I want to rewind and slow it all down. The first few weeks of her life were hell, but I want to do them all over again!

I want to experience her first smile, tooth, laugh, scoot, roll, crawl, pulling up, step, and words all over again. I don't want a toddler. I want a newborn. I want MY newborn back, god damnit

Someone tell me that toddlerhood is more fun than infancy and make me feel better. Please? Gimme some perks of the toddler years.

I wish I could tell you it was better, but I'm in the same boat as you.
I'm a SAHM, never leave her side except for when she was in the NICU and its all happening WAY too fast!

Omg, I feel the exact same way. :[[ I wish I could go back and do it all again. It's way way way too fast. Even when people told me "Cherish every moment it goes so fast" I didn't understand how fast it would really go.

Toddlers are way more fun than babies, you can actually play with them

They really do grow up way to fast. i am having my first child. but i pretty much am around my nieces all day everyday and i was in the same boat wanting them to stop growing.
But a few perks is that they grow up and have personalitys and they come up with the funniest things. I loved the infant stage but i wouldnt trade anything for the toddler days. It maybe be sad for them to be toddlers but just wait till you hear some of the stuff they come up with and park days and taking them new and excting places is the best part. Next its gonna be preschool.

I'm there too.

My daughter turns one in 17 days and I'm in major denile lol. I was looking through her NB pictures the other day and I get all upset cause I wished I'd taken more. I literaly have 1000 pictures of her from birth till now and still I don't think I took enough. But of course at the time I though I was going over bourd on pics lol. It does goes fast, and then you start to forget how it was, and that makes you sad, so you have more, and it starts all over again lol

No no I mean realllly play with them. (and I'm refering to newborns Vs Toddlers)

Every age I had mine I thought yep, I want them to stop here. Whether they were new born or almost on their first decade. Every age is the best.

I agree with everything you just said. And of course, we've talked about this a ton.

Brendan just turned 1 2 days ago and im in the same boat, I have cried about it a few times.
He is my last baby and it flew by.
I long for my itty bitty baby that i used to carry in my shirt. He used to fit in my hand.

But i know the toddler years are also amazing. Everyday they learn something new. You get to giggle at them trying to pronounce a word and watch them use their massive imagination. Laugh when they cry over something trivial & watch them look with awe and wonder at something that we take for granted.

While infancy is amazing and wonderful, So are the toddler years in their own different way.
